Albert Campbell District Branch (496 Birchmount Road) is pleased to be launching a revised version of the Weaving Memoirs on the Web program for older adults (50 years and above). The intent of the intergenerational program is to pair an older adult interested in telling her/his story with a high school age student volunteer who will help the older adult by using technology and the internet to tell that story. By creating a blog (or web log) or online diary as a website on the internet, the older adult will have an opportunity to share her/his experiences with others.

Older adults interested in this free program are invited to contact the branch at 416-396-8890. Registration is limited on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, Weaving Memoirs on the Web will be offered twice as follows:

Tuesday, July 10 to Tuesday, July 31, 2012 inclusive – 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. (Four (4) consecutive Tuesday afternoons)

Wednesday, July 25 to Wednesday, August 15, 2012 inclusive – 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.  (Four (4) consecutive Wednesday mornings)

Older adults enrolled in the program must attend all four weekly sessions, be prepared to contribute written material, and up to 5 pictures (from personal photographic collections) that will be scanned for inclusion on the blog. Youth volunteers will use the available computers and other technology to help the older adults tell their story.
