Weaving Memoirs on the Web program ends, but memoirs continue to be shared

This summer Albert Campbell branch re-launched the Weaving Memoirs on the Web program. Older adults were paired with youth volunteers who assisted them in creating online memoir blogs. The program was a great success, and introduced older adults as well as volunteers to the many possibilities available through blogging websites. Participants who created memoirs were eager to share their blogs with family and friends. Jim (pictured below) plans to use what he has learned in the program to continue adding to his blog, and is looking forward to sharing his memoir with relatives all over Canada.

The strong interest in the program and the positive feedback from participants has encouraged library staff to look for more opportunities for techno-savvy youth to share their knowledge with older generations and help them improve their computer skills.

Feel free to share your program ideas with us! We are always eager to hear what customers think about our programs, and welcome suggestions on how to improve and expand our programming line-up.
