Photography Events in Toronto
I am really looking forward to going to see Edward Burtynsky: Oil, a new photography exhibition opening on April 9 at the Royal Ontario Museum. At this exhibition, world-renowned Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky's magnificent large-format photographs will show the effects of oil manufacturing. You can go to the exhibition for free with Toronto Public Library's Sun Life Financial Museum and Arts Pass. I remember watching the extraordinary documentary, Manufactured Landscapes, which follows Edward Burtynsky as he photographs the effects of China's industrialization. Please click on all images for further information.
Here, the director of the film, Jennifer Baichwal, discusses the making of Manufactured Landscapes:
If you are interested in taking photographs yourself, Toronto Reference Library at Yonge and Bloor has a Digital Design Studio which offers courses, Eatonville Library has a Digital Photography program on May 12 and there are several photography exhibitions on now and coming up at Toronto Public Library.
Mark your calendars for May, because the world's largest photography event, Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival, will be celebrated throughout the month here in Toronto.

THANK YOU FOR THIS WONDERFUL POST.
Edward Burtynsky is one the world’s most respected photographers and one of my personal favourites.
His photographs take us to places which are easily forgotten about in our own lives.
Let us remember our choices in life can affect many other parts of the planet.
This is documentary photography at its finest.
This is some useful information. I actually found information that can help me.
