Dance Animals dance and monologue auditions.

There is no specific script for this two-part audition. If you pass the dance audition you will be required to write and perform a 1-2 minute monologue.

We have many  excellent resources to support this:

monologues for men
monologues for women
Canadian monologues
monologues for teen and youth
multicultural and LGBTQ monologues
monologues and scene books

DANCE ANIMAL, the world’s only comedic-dance-tribe, is looking to cast 7 leads (4
males & 3 females) and 2 understudies (1 male & 1 female) for our Toronto Fringe
Festival production (June 29th – July 10th 2016).
NO DANCE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO AUDITION. We are not looking for the best
dancers but rather the most sparkling personalities. Natural co-ordination, strong face
work and any kind of movement/athletics in your background will be an asset. Union
and non-union welcome. All shapes, sizes, sexual orientations and ethnicities are
encouraged to audition.

Dance Animal mixes the high camp of musical-theatre dance routines with sketch
comedy and character monologues. Accolades include winners of the Just for Laughs
“Best Comedy” Award and the Cirque du Soleil “Best Original Creation” Award.

Dance auditions will be on Wednesday, March 2nd from 2:00-5:00 in the gym at Trinity
St Paul’s United Church (427 Bloor St West). You will either be assigned to attend
between 2:00-3:30 or 3:30-5:00.
Those who make it past the dance audition will be asked to return for a monologue
audition (date/location tba). You will need to write a 1-2 minute monologue as your
Dance Animal character.
Rehearsals begin in March. To build your fitness, we will be working 2-3 times a week
until the Fringe.

For an audition slot, please send your resume and head shot to Robin Henderson at
danceanimaltoronto@gmail.com by Monday February 29th. Please bring a hard copy
of both your resume and head shot to the audition. Union and non-union welcome.
Equity members will be engaged under the Festival Policy.
