Audition Requirements: 2 contrasting songs of your choice in the style of either musical theatre, pop, calypso, soca, or reggae.
One short monologue ( 1 minute maximum). There will be a brief cold read from the script. NOTE: Toronto Reference Library has an extensive collection of sheet music for Musical Theatre and pop music, as well as anthologies of monologues for men or women, and reflective of diversity. Please inquire at Arts Desk on the 5th floor for help.

Audition Results:
- Casting may be published on the Dario et la Diablesse website, the Facebook Group page, and/or The Fringe website once the cast has been finaliz We will take opportunities to promote the show using various forms of media and you will be required to sign a Photo Release and Waiver.
- Successful candidates will be contacted by phone by a member of the production
Rehearsals will begin Saturday, May.28 with Music & Blocking

Rehearsal Dates begin Saturday May.28 until June. 30 - We will be rehearsing Monday's & Tuesday's 6pm -
10pm and Saturday's from 1pm - 630pm. It is crucial you are available for most rehearsal dates & hours.
- Tech Rehearsal/ Cue to Cue is only a few hours prior the show opens: June. 30, 2016 2pm – 5pm. Attendance is mandatory.
- Opening night: Thursday, June. 30, 2016 7:30pm – 9:45pm
- Show run: Saturday, July. 2 – 10:00pm – 1200am | Monday, July. 4 – 2:15pm – 4:15pm (Weekday Matinée) | Wednesday, July. 6 – 12:45pm – 2:45pm (Weekday Matinee) |Friday, July.8 – 5:15pm – 7:15pm | Saturday,
9 – 7:00pm – 9:00pm | Sunday, July. 10 – 11:30am – 1:30pm (Weekday Matinee)

- Venue: The Al Green Theatre – 750 Spadina Ave, Toronto, ON M5S 2J2 (inside the Miles Nadal Jewish community centre) All show nights will have a different call time and vocal warm up
Please check the rehearsal/Tech week/performance schedules listed above to ensure you are available for all dates before auditioning. All cast members are required to be available to help during the ‘Move In’ and ‘Move Out’ and 'Festival Cross Over' processes.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This The Production Staff and the Artistic Team reserves the right to ask a cast member to leave the production if they miss 1 or more scheduled rehearsals without prior consent from the Director, Music Director, Stage Manager and/or Producer. The audition form will ask you to list any dates that you will not be available for rehearsals please ensure that you complete this section. If cast, there is a profit share / festival policy agreement in place for members.
Overview: The infamous Caribbean mythical creature la Diablesse known for her beauty, seductive ways and her hoof instead of a foot, goes against her nature and falls in love with a young Dario. Dario's mother will do anything to protect her son, the
devil will do anything to get Dario's soul and la Diablesse will do anything to make Dario her "soul" mate.
Short Synopsis:
Dario’s soul was promised to the Devil in exchange for riches even before he was born But… He was adopted by a superstitious Ma Theresa who ensured that he was protected even before he was born…Therefore… The devil no longer has access to Dario’s soul… Until… Dario falls hopelessly & helplessly in love with la Diablesse! That is…Unbeknownst to him, one of the devil’s servants. La Diablesse…surprisingly going against her nature, loves him too And… Will do anything to make him her “soul” mate. This is a Caribbean Tale during the pre-independence era where the influence of mythical creatures are strong.
