AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Actors are asked to prepare a song approximately two minutes in length. The material can be either from the world of contemporary rock/pop music or from musical theatre that utilizes those forms. No Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, etc. Because of the nature of the show, this song should be highly emotional in nature, dealing with feelings on the darker end of the spectrum. It is preferred that you provide sheet music for the song in question. We will provide piano accompaniment.

Although the musical is slightly different from the original novel and film, it is still very close and it is strongly recommended that you access either the script / score of the musical, or read the book, or revisit the film and familiarize yourself with the characters and situations.

PLEASE NOTE: the show may contain nudity.

ABOUT THE PLAY: Tormented at school by her peers and smothered at home by her religious zealot mother, Carrie is a true outcast. When her persecutors push her over the edge, she gets back at them in the only way she can. Based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel, Carrie: the musical shows us just what happens when bullies push too far.

ABOUT THE THEATRE: Established in 1919, Hart House Theatre is the University of Toronto's Performing Arts Leader. Since its inception, the theatre's unique mix of young professionals, alumni and students has garnered the theatre a reputation as a cultural destination for not only the community of U of T but also the city of Toronto.
