About the play:  A poignant comedy. Lee and Owen arrive at their uncle’s lakeside cabin at cross purposes. Lee needs to have a serious conversation with  his brother but Owen just wants to party and pretend nothing is amiss. Enter Mary and Loretta – invited off their boat into the cabin by Owen – and let the fun (and a little bit of heartbreak) begin.

CHARACTERS (ages refer to characters, not actors):
Lee – Mid-thirties. The responsible one. A worrier. Has cancer. Foreman at the local plastics factory. Practically raised Owen after their father died.

Owen – Late twenties. Immature. Cocky and overconfident. Coasting through life. Not as smart as he thinks he is. Works with Owen at the factory.

Mary – Early thirties. Smart. The original nice girl. A bit uptight. Life has thrown her some curves. Runs the local corner store.

Loretta – Mid-twenties. Blonde. Also smart. A bit dainty. Flirty. Carefree. Aspiring actress.

PREPARATION:  Please prepare a short (under 2 minutes) comedic monologue. Please also be familiar with the play as you may be asked to do a cold reading from the script.
