Roles
Veronica Novak
(40's/50's) A writer. She pictures herself as the queen of social conscience and common courtesy – but she can be judgemental and domineering. As the situation disintegrates, she fails to maintain her crumbling façade of civility.

Michael Novak (40's/50's) Initially, he appears to be a very gentle man who is eager to create peace. Another side of him is slowly revealed as the evening progresses. He makes racial comments, justifies the children’s violence, and progresses from a seemingly good-natured hardware-store supplier to the bully he was during his own days in school.

Annette Raleigh (40's/50's) She is a woman who is constantly on the brink of a panic attack. In fact, she vomits twice during the course of the play…on stage! Her self confidence has been eroded by the pressures of motherhood and by living with a husband who is eternally preoccupied with work and pays her little attention.

Alan Raleigh (40's/50's) An openly rude corporate lawyer who frequently interrupts the discussion by taking work-related cell phone calls. He has very little interest in being at the meeting, claiming that all little boys are savages and he doesn’t see any point in trying to change them.

Please note: this is a community theatre, non-paying, non-Equity production.
