AUDITIONS: will be held at the Village Playhouse, 2190E Bloor St. West (around the corner from Runnymede subway station) at the following dates and times:
Saturday, October 20: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
Sunday, October 21: Noon to 5:00 pm

CALLBACKS (if necessary):
Tuesday, October 23: from 6:30 pm

REHEARSALS: Will be held at the Village Playhouse.
First read: Saturday October 27 at 11 am – 2 pm. Then rehearsals Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-10 pm, and Sundays 1 – 5 pm. And every night of tech week beginning Sunday, January 7 (full day on the 7th).

PLAY SYNOPSIS
Legendary film producer David O. Selznick is five weeks into shooting Gone With the Wind when he realizes the script is awful, and that the director doesn’t have a clue. He has five days to replace the script, and restart the shoot, or the production will shut down. Selznick calls Victor Fleming from the set of The Wizard to Oz to direct, and he taps legendary playwright, screenwriter and script doctor Ben Hecht to rewrite the script. There’s only one problem: Hecht hasn’t read the book.
Over the course of five madcap days, the three men, assisted by Selznick’s assistant, Miss Poppenghul, frantically craft one of the most beloved screenplays of all time. As Selznick and Fleming act out the book for Hecht, the phone rings off the hook with calls from the likes of Vivien Leigh, Louis B. Mayer and Ed Sullivan. For more about the play, click HERE.

Miss Poppenghul: Age unknown, Selznick’s assistant, late 1930’s business attire, proficient.

PREPARATION: Please prepare a 3-minute monologue. You may be asked to do cold readings from the script; please read the whole play before the audition. A script is available upon request from the audition coordinator.
