Scarborough Theatre Guild Rehearsal Unit – 2105 Midland Ave, Unit 16, Scarborough, Ontario (the building is immediately north of Midland LRT station on east side, south of Progress. The unit and both driveway exits face Cosentino Drive)

SYNOPSIS
The abrupt recall of a highly-regarded Canadian ambassador from his post, the mysterious death of a Russian youth found brutally murdered in a Moscow hotel room, and the ambitions of an Ottawa diplomat combine to explore the darker side of loyalty and commitment. The stakes are high and diplomatic careers hang by a thread. This play is an alluring tale of mystery, betrayal, diplomacy and love.
REQUIREMENTS
Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue. You may also be asked to do a cold-read from the script, so it is best to familiarize yourself with the show. Please being a copy of your resume and headshot to the audition. Callbacks will consist of scenes from the show, performed in groups. we ask that you be available for the full time period so we have a chance to experiment with different pairings/groupings of actors.

| Harry Raymond | Mid-late 60's. A well-experienced and career diplomat, currently ambassador to Moscow. |
| Marian Raymond | Late 50’s- early 60’s. Harry’s emotionally fragile wife, also a long-time member of the diplomatic corps. Afflicted with a real or possibly faked mental condition, possibly early-onset Alzheimer’s. |
| Diana Marsden | Late 20’s-early 30’s. Harry & Marian’s daughter. Recently divorced, a professional lawyer. |
| Michael Riordan | Late 50’s-mid 60’s. Canada’s Minister of External Affairs. Deputy Party leader and heir apparen't as next Prime Minister. Opportunistic, a pragmatic but brutally ambitious egotist. |
| Juliet Riordan | 50’s-early 60’s. Michael’s wife. Loyal, congenial, largely unspoilt but somewhat naïve to both the whole and severity of the current situation. |
| Jackman | 40’s. RCMP Superintendent, an unscrupulous B-Operations (Spy unit) with a fierce duty and loyalty to his country. |
| Mahavolitch | Late 20’s-early 30’s. RCMP Corporal, Jackman’s junior partner. Loyal but easily influenced. Attractive to both sexes, but ambiguous in his own sexuality. |
