AUDITIONS will be held ON ZOOM at the following dates and times:
• Sunday, June 16: 10:00am to 3:00pm
• Tuesday, June 18: 7:00pm to 10:00pm
• Wednesday, June 19: 7:00pm to 10:00pm
CALLBACKS will be held AT THE VILLAGE PLAYHOUSE, 2190E Bloor St. West (around the corner from Runnymede subway station):
• Friday, June 21: 7:00pm ➔
NB: Since the cast will be involved in physical and verbal comedy, callbacks will
probably involve physical activity.
REHEARSALS & PERFORMANCES will be held at the Village Playhouse.
Rehearsals will start at the beginning of July and will typically be Tuesday and Thursday
evenings and Sunday afternoons but are flexible depending on actor availability.
Actors must be available for all of Tech Sunday, September 1, 2024; for the Tech Week
evenings of Monday (Labour Day) through Thursday, September 5, 2024 and for all
performances:
• Friday, September 6 – Saturday (matinée), September 7.
• Wednesday, September 11– Sunday (matinée), September 15.
• Thursday, September 19– Sunday (matinée), September 22.
• Thursday, September 26– Saturday, September 28.
THE PLAY: On the evening of the party for his 10th Wedding Anniversary, the Deputy
Mayor of New York has just shot himself. The guests find themselves in classical farce
hilarity as confusion and miscommunications mount.
CHARACTERS:
• Chris Gorman (late 30s to 40s) – contract lawyer
• Ken Gorman (40s, her husband)- wills, contracts lawyer (goes deaf from noise)
• Claire Ganz
• Lenny Ganz (her husband)-accountant (has whiplash)
• Ernie Cusack (50s)-psychotherapist
• Cookie Cusack (40s his wife)-has TV cooking show (has back trouble)
• Glenn Cooper (40s)- running for State Senate
• Cassie Cooper (30s-early 40s his wife) – believes in the power of crystals
• Officer Welch
• Officer Pudney
REQUIREMENTS:
• All of the guests are well-educated professionals.
• Cast members must be prepared to learn lines early as the script is very funny and
fast-paced, leaving no room for either paraphrasing or ad-libbing (except in an
emergency.)
PREPARATION:• All auditionees must have read the play.
• Please prepare a 2-minute comedic monologue and be prepared for cold readings
from the script.

• Once we receive and confirm your details, we will give you a day and time for your
zoom audition, sending you a script if requested.
• You will receive an email with (a) page numbers of cold-read excerpts and (b) Zoom
link no later than one day before your audition appointment.
