CASTING CALL FOR ALUMNAE THEATRE’S FIREWORKS FESTIVAL 2025
A Festival of Three full-length plays each running for one week:
Gunplay (after the gun goes off), April 23-27, 2025
Days Since Bo’s Been Gone, April 30 – May 4, 2025
The Green House, May 7-11, 2025.
Rehearsals begin March 10.
GUNPLAY (After the gun goes off)

Mainstage Theatre/April 23-27, 2025
When Darryl and his friend Niko get caught using a pellet gun in the alley beside an elementary school, it triggers a full active shooter response.
TREVOR STEVENS: Approximate Age range: 30- 40 – Police Officer suffering from PTSD.
MIRANDA: 35- 50 – Darryl’s mother; a single mother trying to keep it all together.
DARRYL: Able to play 15-year -old boy, just finishing grade nine. A pretty good kid who messed up.
NIKO: Able to play 15-year-old boy, just finishing grade nine. Has ADHD, pretty messed up.
KELLY: 30- 40 – Stevens’ wife; mother to his two children./ may also play
DESK CLERK– No nonsense, efficient administrator who has seen it all
MS. D’ANGELO-Elementary school teacher- committed, kind, and caring /may also play MRS.
MURPHY-High School Principal- entrenched bureaucrat.
DANIELS– Stevens’ long time patrol partner / may also play DETECTIVE THOMAS-Officer assigned to Darryl and Niko’s case
JOHN-Niko’s Father- speaks what he feels is the truth, even when it’s not popular.

Following her boyfriend's sudden death, twenty-three-year-old Jade realizes that the death of a loved one isn't just an emotional nightmare, but a logistical one. Comedy/Drama
JADE: A former optimist, struggling to gain her footing after the death of her boyfriend. Early/mid 20s, Female
CHLOE: Jade's best friend. Supportive and loving but overwhelmed and inexperienced with grief. Early/mid 20s, Female
ATLAS: Eccentric and self-obsessed, Atlas thinks the best way to cope with pain is to pretend it isn't there. Early/mid 20s, Gender non-specific
RICK: Sweet, sincere, and charmingly cringy. Rick is Jade's friend from a grief support group. Early/mid 20s, Gender non-specific
GAME SHOW HOST: A figment of Jade's imagination. Shifts seamlessly between fun-loving jester and aggressive interrogator. Mid/late 20s, Female

Deadline for submissions is Monday February 17, 2025. Be sure to include your RESUME, HEADSHOT, AGE RANGE and PHONE NUMBER. If possible, indicate which play/character you wish to audition for. Candidates chosen to audition will be asked to prepare a 2-minute contemporary monologue.
Auditions will be held from February 18-22 on zoom (Gunplay), via self-tape (Days Since Bo’s Been Gone)
Callbacks will take place from February 24-28
Alumnae Members will be given priority consideration. The Alumnae encourages diversity in its
membership and casting. This is a non-paying non-union engagement.
