Goldfrapp (made up of Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory) are an electronica music duo from the UK. The album "Tales of Us" is an extraordinary look at the personal lives of individuals that the average person doesn't see. The idea of "sonder" ( n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground) is greatly examined on this album as each song is about an individual.
The compelling vocals of Allison combined with the musical landscape that the two create is spine shivering good. The album is one that you can put on and fall into as you find yourself relating to these people who you have never met and know nothing about. There is a great deal of magic realism happening on this album and it is glorious. Pour yourself a cup of tea and stream this album and hopefully you will enjoy it.
