Based on the novel "Angie, I Says" this excellent film examines life of a woman who is restless and wants more. Angie has lived her whole life in Brooklyn with her tight knit family and friends. She has a long term boyfriend, her best friend Tina and her Dad, but still she is not satisfied and keeps looking for more.
When she finds herself pregnant she starts having an affair with a wealthy and talented Irish lawyer. No one in her family can understand what she is doing and when she ends her relationship with Vinnie they are stunned that she has no intentions of terminating the pregnancy or giving the baby up for adoption.
When her child is born with a slight deformity Angie sets out into the world looking for the answers to her questions and hoping to find some understanding as to what her life is about as opposed to what it could be about. This charming film can be seen as a middle age coming of age story.
