FINALISTS FOR 22nd ANNUAL TRILLIUM BOOK AWARD ANNOUNCED
Closer to home, six English books and five French were short-listed this week for Ontario's 22nd Annual Trillium Book Award/ 22e édition du Prix littéraire annuel Trillium.
This year’s six English Finalists for the Trillium Book Award/Prix Trillium are:

Helen Humphreys, Coventry
Ibi Kaslik, The Angel Riots
Pasha Malla, The Withdrawal Method
Nino Ricci, The Origin of Species
Charles Wilkins, In the Land of Long Fingernails
This year’s five French Finalists for the Trillium Book Award/ Prix Trillium are:
Marguerite Andersen, Le figuier sur le toit
Hédi Bouraoui, Cap Nord
Daniel Marchildon, L’eau de vie
Melchior Mbonimpa, La terre sans mal
Nancy Vickers, Aeterna Le jardin des immortelles
This year’s three Finalists for the Trillium Book Award for Poetry in English language are:
Jeramy Dodds, Crabwise to the Hounds
Joanne Page, Watermarks
Adam Sol, Jeremiah, Ohio
This year’s three Finalists for the Trillium Book Award for Children’s Literature in French language are:
Michèle Laframboise, La Quête de Chaaas tome 1
Françoise Lepage, Les chercheurs d’étoiles
Paul Prud’Homme, Les Rebuts : Hockey 2
On June 15, 2009 the public are invited to join in the celebration of the finalists of this year’s 22nd Trillium Book Award with authors’ readings followed by a reception. The event will be held in the Brigantine Room, York Quay Centre, 235 Queen’s Quay West, in association with Author Readings at Harbourfront Centre. On June 16, 2009, the Honourable Aileen Carroll, Ontario Minister of Culture, will announce the winners in Toronto at a luncheon at the Park Hyatt.
