The Green Shore by Natalie Bakopoulos
A book about the dictatorship era in Greece in the 1970s, a topic not written about a lot in fiction. Although the dictatorship had a negative impact, it is still a heartwarming novel about family life in Greece in the 1970s.

Hemingway's Girl by Erika Robuck
A novel based on life in Key West of a half-Cuban housemaid, the larger than life Ernest Hemingway, and his second wife, Pauline.

The Shoemaker's Wife by Adriana Trigiani

Both of these are great audiobooks.

These books trace the life of Temujin as he rises from an inconsequential cast-off from his tribe to the leader of all the Mongols and becomes known as Genghis Khan. Lots of intrigue and battles ensue.

This book has everything; suspense, love, time travel, and a librarian as the protagonist, all intricately woven into an enthralling tale.
