Smart Pens
I’ve heard of Smart Phones but never in my wildest imaginations would ever thought that Smart Pens were something I would be hearing about, let alone writing about. Smart Pens have now changed the face of note taking for students, professionals on the go and many more. It serves as a gadget and more importantly as a piece of assistive technology. Anyone who ever had a hard time taking down notes and keeping up with the rest of the class or group has no more worries.
The first device sounds too good to be true, and it’s the product most likely to come up if you ever did a Google search for smart pens. The LiveScribe 3 Smartpen is an amazing tool. When paired up with an App, watch how your notes appear instant on your mobile device and become much more useful. Designed to have the same appearance and touch as a regular ball point pen, the LiveScribe 3 Smartpen will allow for a more natural and balanced feel.
Notes can be instantly organized and made to fit into your contacts, notes and calendar. A really amazing aspect of the phone is the ability to record notes into the pen with voice. If you’re having a meeting or a conversation and don’t want the hassle of taking down notes, this device is want you want. The LiveScribe 3 Smartpen has a function that makes this process non-existent.
The video below demos it perfectly.
The second pen really acts more like a highlighter than a pen in fact. This product is the Ectaco C-Pen 3.5. It transmits everything you go over with wirelessly through its Bluetooth capabilities. The Ergonomic design can work for both left and right handed users while still providing maximum comfort.
With the accompanied software, any text you swipe over from a book, magazine or any other printed text gets loaded into the computer. Bluetooth design allows on-the-go scanning up to 30 feet from your computer or mobile device which includes support for either Mac/PC.
Have fun!!

Wow! How cool are these pens devices ..
Does the LiveScribe 3 Smartpen require special paper to perform these functions?
I understand it has a translator app and additional apps are also available from their website.
The only problem, at $150 to $200 dollars a pen, you most certianly, don’t want to lose your LiveScribe 3 Smartpen, anywhere, Ever!
Maybe if you own one, it should come with a wrist band or neck band .. Low tech to save the high tech .. All sounds like a great gift for any that may require note taking
Wonder what the next generation of the LiveScribe 3 Smartpen will do? .. Maybe videos !! Maybe a combo of the LiveScribe 3 Smartpen & Cpen in one unit, an all in one pen, writing & scanning. It’s like the 007 devices are becoming available for everybody to enjoy
Thanks for showing us these great tech pens that can do so much. Great Find!
