A Hidden Gem…Investor’s Business Daily
The other week I mused about industry magazines and other sources of company information. For those of you who are (or are not) familiar with Investor’s Business Daily, this is a SERIOUS U.S. daily newspaper providing detailed information about stocks, mutual funds, commodities, and other financial instruments aimed at individual investors. The newspaper provides detailed, concise statistics using earnings, stock price performance, and other criteria to help investors find quality stocks. Detailed index and stock charts are present throughout.
It could be useful to you because IBD includes several written sections that detail companies and news of interest. The New America and Internet & Technology sections highlight companies that may be desirable for the newspaper's readers. The newspaper's opinions and analysis of global and national events are highlighted in the Editorials and Opinion section.
The Toronto Reference Library and the North York Central Library have current subscriptions to the paper version; but, you can get it online as well! Just use your library card to go to one of Toronto Public Library’s electronic databases, Business & Company Resource Center, (Remember I talked about this database in a previous post?) and type: investor’s business daily in the Publication Search text box. B&C R C provides full-text coverage from January 3, 2000 to present. How cool is that?!
