March Break Highlights for Teens at Toronto Public Library
Toronto (Monday, March 8, 2010) –Toronto Public Library branches will host a variety of free special programs during March Break especially for teens. Get out of your room – get into the library.
Program Highlights:
Laugh and learn with Evan Carter and Ann Vautour
A comedy improv workshop.
Get a vibe with Vybe Dance
Have a lot of fun learning some dance basics.
Put your hands on a drum with Mystic Drumz
Each workshop is full of music and rhythm. Everyone receives an instrument and instruction on how to play it. The group becomes a percussion ensemble and learns a full song from start to finish. Participants have a chance to try more than one instrument.
Make a mime of yourself with ET the Mime
A hilarious and interactive mime show – after the show ET will teach some cool mime tricks.
Dub that poetry with Michael St George
The incomparable Michael St. George presents dub poetry in its purest form through dance, chants, rhymes, scores of metaphors, drumbeats and heartbeats. This powerful performance encourages and challenges teens to feel emphatically, to think critically, and to take positive action for social change.
