New and Noteworthy Books: September 2020

Nana Akua Goes to School by Tricia Elam Walker, illustrated by April Harrison
When Zura brings her grandmother to school for Grandparen'ts day, she is worried what the other children will think. Nana Akua brings in a quilt and teaches the children about Adinkra customs and symbols. Includes back matter with examples and meanings of fifty symbols. Ages 4-8
