Girls’ Rights Matter

On March 8, we hosted a celebration of 100 years of International Women's Day. The event was a rousing success!  Over a hundred people listened to women's success stories, participated in dance performances and enjoyed poetry. We were treated to talks by Connie Guberman, Status of Women Officer at University of Toronto, who spoke about the history of women's rights in Canada, and by the Honourable Jean Augustine, Ontario's Fairness Commissioner. Here's a recording of Jean's speech:

Girls' Rights Matter, by Jean Augustine

A big thanks to Kristine Schwartz and the Office of the Fairness Commissioner for sharing this recording!
