I have a question about the City of Toronto…

What do I do?  If I want to know something about the City of Toronto there is a great new service I can use: it's a phone hotline to the City – 311.   Just dial "311"  — like 911, only, of course, it's not an emergency 😉 —  and you are connected to a person who can answer all your questions.

Some questions might be:

  • where is the nearest beach where I can swim ?
  • how do I get a marriage license?  and where can I get married ?
  • I need a parking permit
  • where are there road closures ?
  • is there a parade this weekend ?
  • how can I get my child enrolled in a City summer camp?  or daycare ?  or after school recreation care ?
  • I want to know more about the City government
  • how do I get business licenses or a building permit ?

Are you trying to deal with a problem ?  The hotline can help you find out where to call and will find the right person for you to talk to.  The City has a Human Rights Office and other places where you can make complaints about City services.

And – the hotline is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week !

There is also a website for 311 – check it out, to find out all about our City.
