Free Science Events in Toronto for August 2013
The
Science and Technology Department of North York Central Library compiles
a monthly calendar of free science and applied science events in Toronto.
Applied science includes health, gardening, pets and food; all subjects found
in the department’s collection. Here is the August calendar.
August highlights include:
- August 4: Caterpillars, Moths and
Butterflies, part of the High Park Sunday Walking Tours.
- August 13: (SEO) Google Demystified – Tips
for Better Page Rankings, tips and factors that affect a site’s ranking
will be presented in this workshop.
- August 30: Understanding Our Digestive
System, a talk by the clinicians from the University Health Network.
The Toronto Public Library also offers
many free science and applied science events:
August highlights include:
- August 1: Exercise for Older Adults (Cantonese),
at Woodside Square library.
- August 15: Memory and Aging: What’s
Normal, What’s Not, and What You Can Do About It, at Brentwood library.

This is fantastic … Just when I think our libraries are so great .. You just prove .. they are even Greater then that .. so much more than a resource center with events like these to experience offering us stimulating interactive programs like the ones you have listed .. Thank you for making and informing us that libraries are not a boring place to go but the place to be for the needs of today and presently it in a most exciting way .. and it’s even offered FREE .. It doesn’t get better than this
