Documenting Your Artwork
On February 4, at the Northern District Branch, Room 200, we are hosting a a skillsbuilding workshop for artists who want to exhibit or sell their work or who simply want to create a lasting documentary artistic record. For details click here: Documenting Your Artwork.
Gallery 44 instructor Toni Hafkenscheid will teach participants how to document their artwork, including lighting setup and basic image preparation in Photoshop. Participants should bring a Digital Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera. The workshop is introductory and the techniques taught do not require complicated equipment and setup. 
The program consists of two 90-minute workshops, one at 5 pm, the other at 6:30 pm. To register for one of these sessions, please email the Art Exhibits Office: artexhibits@torontopubliclibrary.ca.
Toni Hafkensheid is a Toronto based photographer who was born in 1959 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In 1989, he graduated from the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and shortly thereafter moved to Toronto. He has long been active in Toronto's arts community and he has received several Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council awards. He currently teaches at OCAD and Ryerson University and gives additional workshops at Gallery 44.
Hafkensheid's works reside in a number of important collections such as the Canadian Museum for Contemporary Photography in Ottawa, Foreign Affairs Canada, the University of Toronto, the Canada Council Art bank, The Royal Bank Canada, the Center for Exploratory and Perceptual Art in Buff
alo, NY, and Kodak France and Kodak Netherlands as well as various private collections.
