You don't know what to do this holiday? You don't want to go out in this weather? Too lazy to read a book? The best thing to do is stay home and watch movies – let this post help you decide what to watch!

Homealone1. Home Alone

I think everybody has seen or heard about this film. This film is a 1990 American Christmas comedy classic written and produced by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus. This film is about the boy named Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) who is mistakenly left behind when his family goes to Paris for their Christmas vacation. Being home alone, Kevin contends with two would-be burglars played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern.

2. Elf

Elf tells the story of Buddy the Elf and his quest to reunite with his human father Buddy never knew existed. He goes to New York City, where he spreads relentless holiday good cheer and rekindles the spirit of Christmas in the entire city.

3. Arthur Christmas

Arthur is a good boy who wants all children around the world to have a gift from Santa. When one gift is missed, Arthur springs into action to deliver the gift before Christmas morning dawns.

4. The Dog who Saved Christmas

Zeus, a former K-9 police hero, becomes the unreliable guard dog to the Bannister family. When two burglars break into Bannister's home while they're away for Christmas, Zeus must find the hero in him again.

5. Christmas with the Kranks

This film is based on the novel Skipping Christmas. Luther and Nora Krank want to skip the holiday when their daughter is away. However, their plan changes when they get a call that she will be home during the holiday. Watch the film to see what happens with their plans!

Borrow these movies for free using your Toronto Public Library card! You may also borrow and download more holiday movies through Hoopla. I hope that you have a great holiday and enjoy your break from school!
