We’ve all heard the story of Beauty and the Beast. It’s a Disney classic and loved by many children around the world. The story tells of a charming prince who was turned into a huge beast and falls in love with a sweet village girl, which reverses his curse and turns him back into his original form.

Just recently, this wonderful Disney tale was made into a blockbuster movie that received a lot of love. Emma Watson, one of my favourite actors, starred in the movie. I took the time to go watch it with my family; I had very high expectations. However I felt that the movie wasn’t so great.

This is because the movie wasn’t very interesting or engaging. I expected there to be a certain twist or a change from the original story. Unfortunately it had no uniqueness to it and it just felt like watching the animated version of Beauty and the Beast. I was hoping to be left in awe after watching the film, but I honestly felt bored most of the time. Nonetheless, there were certain aspects of the movie that weren’t boring and I had fun watching, such as the special effects. The special effects were the highlight of the movie for me. The animation was so vibrant, colourful, and unreal. They were truly incredible to watch. I also thought that the songs were great; they were so easy to sing along to and enjoy.

I would rate this movie a 6 or 7 out of 10 and would recommend this movie to younger children, as they would enjoy the animation and not worry so much about the plot. It also teaches viewers a great lesson, which is to not judge by looks. Overall, I would not take the time to watch Beauty and the Beast again but I don’t regret going to see it the first time.
