Descendants of the sunI have recently finished a 2016 Korean drama series called Descendants of the Sun. This drama is about a captain soldier and a doctor. Their relationship is filled with a lot of fear but there is also a lovely side to it. Their jobs are quite similar and yet very different. A soldier protects life by death while being loyal to a particular country; while a doctor fights for all lives irrespective of citizenship or race.
Personally, this drama speaks to me in many different ways. My dream is to become a doctor, and this shows me that there are rough sides to the job and that I'm going to face some unpleasant circumstances like choosing a life over another. It also makes me aware that I can only do my best as a doctor and at times my best might not be enough to save some lives.

This drama also depicts lives of soldiers and the tough decisions they have to make in order to keep their country safe. This drama makes me respect good soldiers even more than I used to. I recommend this drama to any Korean drama freak like me. In fact, not only Korean freaks but aspiring doctors and soldiers. There were times it brought tears to my eyes but it is worth crying over.

BTW: the main characters are getting married in real life!!!!!! (song-song couple)
