Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay AsherIn 2014, when I first read Thirteen Reasons Why, by Jay Asher, I thought it was amazing, thinking it was a good representation about mental health but, after watching the Netflix series, my opinion changed.

I grew up since then of course, I learned stuff, I have experienced things and now I do not think this book did a good job. I read this book a looong time ago so I do not remember most. Just the general plot, I remember, I do not like. In my opinion, I don't think its a good way to portray a character who has been through mental health issues. Then again, this is a veeery difficult, complicated, fragile and touchy thing to talk about. So what is the best way to portray a depressed person that will make people understand? I have no idea and who am I to say what is the right way and what isn't. But the Netflix series just made Hannah an unlikable character. And all it did was make viewers think even more negatively about people who have depression or any mental health issues
