The new Library website will roll out in several phases to better prepare staff and customers for this big transition. Staff will be updated when further key dates are confirmed.

Staff Beta Phase 1: Consultative Team – August 7

  • Staff on the Website Consultative Team (about 30 members) will have the first opportunity to view the site and to provide feedback.

Staff Beta Phase 2: All Staff – October 29

  • All staff will have the opportunity to view the site and to provide feedback.
  • Staff on the Website Consultative Team, Answerline, Virtual Reference Desk, User Education and identified in-branch staff will participate in orientation sessions to prepare them to support colleagues and customers during the public beta and launch periods.

Public Beta – November

  • The public will be invited to test the site.
  • The old TPL site will still exist.
  • PAC workstations will still use iBistro.
  • Questions and feedback will be addressed by staff from the Web Team.
  • Training will be offered to all staff to prepare them for the full website launch.

Full Website Launch – 2010

  • The old TPL website will vanish.
  • Answerline and Virtual Reference Desk will provide customer support.

Looking Ahead 

The launch of the new website is the first phase of changes coming to our virtual branch. Down the road, look for e-mail marketing, online registration and other changes that will help improve our customer service.
