Further Down the Spiral

So I like to create avatars.

Yes, yes, I get a little giddy when I'm able to create something that kind of looks like me.  My friends and I can literally spend hours pouring over which nose we should pick.  And the debates can get epic.  Once the avatar is created, admired and then critiqued, we repeat the process.  These avatar creators can literally eat up an entire night.  But that's what I love about them, it is virtually a cheap night in, and I have a blast creating them.

With Scott Pilgrim being one of recommended titles for this Word Out, I thought it was approperiate to take one for the collective team, and then make up a Scott Pilgrim avatar.

Two main issues with the program:
1) No Tattoo or Piercing Options in the Accessories File.  Also there are some bad-ass belts, and wrist cuffs.

2) I couldn't decide if I wanted either the "metal head", "punk rock rebel", "book nerd" label.  So I had a little meeting with my fellow librarians.  Based on the recommendation of my coworkers, they decided that I was more of a "punk rock rebel." So I had to click for about seven minutes (yes, I counted) until the generator popped up with the label again.  I got a little dizzy, and kinda pukey, but it was worth it in the end.

here is the final product

  Scott pilgrim

  2. Ahhh! I remember making a whole bunch of Hetalia ones last week hahaha
Gee, it’s really blown up huh? Good on ya Scottie 😀

  3. thoses were so much fun where I can make people that look like whoever I wanted and sometimes its jokes on what they came up with their creations

  4. Yeah… guilty pleasure of mine. xD Spending time making avatars when I could be doing other productive things. Oh well. xD

  5. whenever i get a new game where i have to make the avatar i try to get the closest mage of me possible, lol usually the avatar turns out funny looking but it quite fun

  6. do sims count as avatars?
well even if they do or do not, i think they’re cool (:
if you guys have a lot of time to kill, and enjoy decorating and leaning more into the house architecture stuff, you should get one of the sims games.
you can get them in many stores for 20 – 30 dollars.
another avatar i used to have was from millsberry.
when i was little, i used to go on it all the time, but i kinda outgrew it but still checks on it once in a while.
so if you (then, again)have a lot of time to kill or have younger siblings or cousins who would like to have their own avatars,
    go to: millsberry.com
(it’s safe and all and in my opinion, its cool)
    peace word out, xoxo

  7. I love making all kinds of combinations in avatars, though I seem to always use the same eyes for each avatar… Especially in Maplestory.

  8. Ya I love making avatars. Except mine tend to not like me that much. Ok they don’t look anything like me. Well it’s fun to make avatars that can look like anything. Just like nbaball said, it’s fun to make Darth Vader using a wii. 😛

  9. omg! making avatars to look like you? I totally know that feeling!
wasting time when I could do more productive things…guitly pleasure

  10. I remember customizing my avatar on Gaia online!I haven’t played that for a long time. Gonna go play it again! 😀

  11. cool avatar! I have tryed to make some avatars look like me before….i think i understand what you mean when you say it can’take hours to pick the right nose^^ once i made a random avatar just for the fun of it since i was bored, and i almost spent 1 hour just picking the right clothing!

  12. My avatar is awesome but I made a mistake with the first one, I kind of posted it without any clothes on. Just to let you know, it was a mistake but my second came out great. Avatars rule!!!

  13. I make avatars for forums and such. Never of myself >.<' Usually I use my favourite characters from animes and manga. As well as my favourite celebs ^__^

  14. I don’t think I’ve ever tried making an avatar before… Well, now I know what I’ll be trying in my free time! 🙂

  15. I love making avatars for new games and websites and such and i tried the scott pilgram avatar, it was really fun and u hav to choose the one dat u like which for me takes for hours but its really fun in one word.

  16. ahah
i made one it was soo funny
i love the site i love how there are falling coins and u catch them for points
plus plus they have AWESOME accesories for the avatras
    it was pretty sweet

  17. Avatars often reveal the user’s hidden potential, such as being a rock legend or hockey hero, if however you are unsatisfied with the final result it is often due to a program’s lack of options versus your lack of creativity.

  18. I love making avatars but I don’t make them like myself more like celebrities and random people from books

  19. I love avatras, they are so cute..Okay not always. But I spend a lot free time making avatars or anime characters for many of my pointless manga creations! 🙂 is there a place you can publish them.
I have made many of me, my family and friends.I love creating them of how i think characters actually look like.I had high hoped for Edward Cullen,I drew a few of him. In the end they chose robert pattinson!upsetting! 🙁

  20. I like making avatars too!! Its like I can make people look whoever I wanted them to look like.
