  1. Project Sweet Life by Brent Hartinger was definitely a book that I was a bit cautious and sceptical about while signing out. I only put it on hold because it was a summer read and I thought to myself “ do you really want to read this” and although I thought “no” I still decided to give it a chance and I will tell you right now that I am so glad I did. I have to admit, it is a very interesting topic and not one that I come across very often but I enjoyed the novel and it was very humorous and entertaining. However, I would recommend this to an older audience just because I’m not quite sure the message that it is portraying is a very good one. At first it was about three young men who try to trick their paren’ts into thinking that they have gotten summer jobs even though they really didn’t and they are trying to find fast ways to make money but they always end up failing. At first everything was amusing and their plan always foils and they try new things but then the novel takes a random turn of directions and becomes a big adventure/ history event story that I was not expecting. Overall, I think it’s a nice fresh light hearted summer read that you don’t need to think too much about but I think that that is something that we sometimes want. Personally I think that the whole idea of “project sweet life” is a bit cheesy but i would recommend it for a summer read.
