Any character/any book? : )
Is there an age requirement to enter? I’m 19, so I’m wondering if I qualify. And does the story have to be kept family-friendly, or can it be any rating? Just curious. And can I take a fic I’ve pre-written and enhance it? Or does it have to be completely new?
(PS: You guys should create another challenge/contest that the word limit is over 500 words. I have a tendency to be in the thousands for word count; so do a lot of other fanfic authors.)
Hey Annie and LV
LV, Word Out is a program for all youth, and so 19 is totally not too old to submit an entry! Because it’s a youth program though, let’s keep entries ‘family-friendly’ as you so aptly put it.
Annie, keeping the above in mind, feel free to write about any book/character you’d like.
If you have an existing piece of fan fiction that’s 500 words or less (or you’ve got a piece that you can edit down to 500 words), feel free to submit it.
Thank you! Just two last questions: one, are multiple entries allowed? (I suspect not, but I’m just clarifying.) And two, my library card has a massive fine on it that I haven’t been able to pay yet, and thus it’s been suspended in the meantime, so would this get in the way of me entering?
HOGWARTS AGAIN
Still half asleep, Harry stumbled down the stairs and entered the Burrow’s kitchen.
Mrs. Weasley smiled at him warmly. “What would you like, Harry?”
“Just some toast, thanks,” he replied as he sat down across from Hermione.
“Guess what?!” Hermione beamed at him excitedly, waving an envelope in front of his face.
“What’s that?” Harry asked.
“Read it,” she handed it to him.
In green ink, the Hogwarts emblem was stamped onto the parchment. Unfolding the letter, Harry started to read.
“They have to be joking!” Harry announced.
“Who’s joking?” Ron asked, sitting down next to Harry.
“Look at this.”
When Ron had finished reading the letter, his jaw dropped open. Harry put a hand under his chin and closed it.
“The nerve of them! They could’ve at least taken into consideration what we’ve been through lately. Hasn’t exactly been a walk in the park, you know,” Ron complained.
Two days later, Harry, Hermione and Ron were sitting in a Hogwarts train as it set off from Platform 9 ¾ on the first of September.
“I still can’t believe that we’re going to school after everything,” Ron moaned.
“Education is important. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, you still need your qualifications,” Hermione said.
Ron stared at Hermione in disbelief and then turned to Harry, who shrugged.
“I’m only going ‘cause they won’t let me be an Auror without my NEWTs,” Harry explained.
As the train slowed, Hermione opened their compartment door and the three friends set off, back to school again.
Just before they reached the Great Hall, Professor McGonagall ran up to them. “Ms. Granger, Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley, I need to see you in my office.”
As they sat down, Hermione asked, “Professor, aren’t you the Headmistress now? Why aren’t you in the Head’s office?”
“I just wouldn’t feel comfortable in there,” she said. “Now… Ms. Granger, have a cookie,” the professor held out an open cookie tin and Hermione took one. “Potter, Weasley, why don’t you have one too?” she forced cookies into their hands.
“Nice cookies, Professor,” said Ron.
“Thank you. Look, I was thinking that you three don’t need to complete your final year –“
“Why, Professor?” Hermione asked, horrified.
“Forgive me, but, the three of you do tend to cause tons of havoc. And Hogwarts is looking for a quiet year,” Professor McGonagall said.
“But, Professor, our education -“ Hermione faltered as Ron gave her a murderous look.
“Ah, who am I kidding? All the teachers have missed you, but we agreed that you are qualified to graduate Hogwarts if you choose not to return. But you are more than welcome to spend another year here,” the professor smiled.
Hermione grinned, relieved.
“Well, go enjoy the feast,” Professor McGonagall said.
The doors to the Great Hall swung open as Harry, Ron and Hermione neared them.
Harry looked up at the starry ceiling.
A pie dropped from the sky and directly onto Harry’s face.
“Potty’s back,” yelled Peeves.
Harry was home once again.
Yes, multiple entries are OK. Go for it! There’s so much fan fic to write. And (happily) no, fines have nothing to do with Word Out participation or contests, so again, just go for it.
There’s nothing in the rules about multiple entries, but I suspect that your suspicions are correct.
Okayy
Um… sorry to keep asking all these questions, but what exactly constitutes as family-friendly in your eyes? I understand that there can’t be graphic gore, sex, etc., but can’things be implied or mentioned in passing? Like forbidden relationships, or implied sex? And one of my fics has a torture scene that’s not graphic in gore or anything (there isn’t any gore at all), but it’s used to establish a character’s strength in comparison to others and as a part of the conflict/motivation.
And is freeverse poetry allowed?
Hey LV and Seeker:
Multiple entries are allowed.
Hey LV
Thanks for checking in about this!
In general, we at the library are committed to allowing people to express themselves. As such, we would only remove a comment (or in this case a contest entry) if it was defamatory, off-topic, insulting, obscene, harassing, spam or in violation of any law or Library policy.
That being said, please bear in mind that Word Out encourages all ages of youth to participate, including some people that might be a lot younger than you. Also, your entry will be public, so just about anyone from your best friend to your grandmother will be able to read what you put up!
So write something you’re proud of and happy with, and that you think other people participating in Word Out will enjoy reading too.
(And YES! Free verse is definitely allowed!)
Hah I like this, especially the end.
Awesome! I’ve been writing fanfiction practically my whole life! But this is my first time on this website and I have no idea where to submit my work? Do I email it digitally or mail it out? Sorry if this information was already given out, I just can’t see it!
Hey Ayume! Put your entry right in the comment field on this blog post.
Oh great! Thanks!
Thanks, Asma.
can’the fan fiction be a little more than 500 like 530 or something
It was dark, and there was water up to his chest. That was the first thing Alan realized when he came to. He was slouched against a wall, and it felt like the garden gnomes were having an Oktoberfest in his head. ‘Wait…Oktoberfest–beer. Splitting headache. Unexplained things in room…
Crap. Not again.’
It was just then that Alan heard a splashing noise, farther off in the darkest corner of the basement. He started searching for any of his comrades. “Ph-Phil?” he whispered. “S-Stu!” The basement seemed to only be populated by basement-y objects, and of course whatever in Hell’s name was making that terrible splashing sound…
His eyes went wide when he spotted the demon. BEAVER. How could they have known about that?! He was only 10 when he took that boat ride! He was only 10 when he saw those beady, black eyes, that matted fur, those teeth that could chomp through coconuts…but Alan realized he was a grown man now. That he should be strong enough not to be scared of one freshwater rodent. One…very large…menacing…hungry…freshwat–“OhgodwhoamIkidding, somebody, help!”
The basement door burst open, flooding the flooded room with merciful, godly light. “Alan!” The beaver quickly swam away, scared out of its wits.
Alan was so relieved, he was almost in tears. “Ph-Phil! Phil, I’m here!”
Phil quickly dashed down the steps, racing to pick help up his fallen friend. “Oh shit, oh shit, Alan, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…”
He reached out a hand, and Alan took it. They embrace for five unquestionably-manly seconds.
“Wha-what happened, Phil? How did I get here?”
“We’re in Toronto, Alan. We’re staying with some of Stu’s friends. We were going down to the basement to grab some beer, but you tripped over a nail and fell down the stairs…Stu and I leaned you up against this wall and were about to call a doctor, but then we realized we’d forgotten to close the kitchen window, and the rain had started…we cleaned up the water on the floor, but then the power went out…Alan, I’m sorry, but we completely forgot about you! We didn’t even know the basement was flooded…will you forgive me?”
Alan smiled, tears drying on his cheeks. “Oh, Phil, of course I forgive you. That’s what friends are for.”
Another unquestionably-manly embrace followed. Alan spoke up after they separated. “So, I guess the beaver got in from one of the basement windows, or something?”
Phil gave him a quizzical look. “No, of course not. Don’t be silly. That’s Bill’s pet.”
Alan gave Phil a look back. “And why does Bill have a beaver as his pet?”
Phil shrugged. “He’s Canadian, why not?”
Alan thought for a second. “Eh, suppose you’re right.”
And with that, the two friends smiled at each other, trudged through the water, and ascended the stairs to greet Stu and his friend anew.
The End
Based on The Hangover and its sequels. It doesn’t really have a name…maybe Alan and The Beaver? Yeah…let’s go with that. I actually wrote a slightly longer, more detailed version, but I had to trim it down to get under the word limit. 500 words is not a lot, man!
A link to that version: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-L5sB2ZiTcR9PSR_rCnB0h5xfqAfemrJBjDDTgAmcvU/edit?usp=sharing
Blegh, I made some typos in the one I can’t edit…*separated, *help up, not “pick help up”.
We’d like you to try to keep your entry to about 500 words, so that we can actually read through all the entries (Otherwise, people might submit whole novels :)).
That being said, I don’t think we’ll be disqualifying anyone for being a couple of words over.
Falling to pieces
History is repeating for the tenth time, I am getting harassed by Jade west’s gang, but this time there isn’t tears in my eyes, in fact there isn’t any emotions on my face.
While, I stood there emotionless, the gang ripped all my notes, vandalized my books, at the end when they thought that the torture wasn’t enough, they ….. For the grand finale threw my glasses away and left me suffering.
Suddenly, I burst out crying, and tried to camouflage “why is my life like this” I screamed. After calming myself I began to search for my glasses. My vision was really blurry so, without seeing my untied shoelace, I tripped and was about to fall when a muscular arm caught me. I slowly opened my eyes and saw my biggest crush, Beck Oliver. Even though, Beck was immensely popular, he was different from the others. He always stood by me when the other’s turned their backs to me. I quickly get up stealing glances of him.
“Hi, Tori are you hurt” he said worriedly
“No, and thanks for saving me “I said while blushing
“Are you coming to cat valentine’s party tonight” beck said
“Yes” I said quietly
“See ya there Tori,” he said smirking
“Bye” I said blushing
After Beck left, I had this sudden feeling that he likes me, so I decided to confess my love to him in Cat’s party. While was going home from school, I saw jade putting poster of me being voted the ugliest girl in Woodbine sr. ps. “AGGGGG” I screamed “ I just got over that problem last week , why is jade making me go through this again?? I said while tears are forming in my eyes and ran fast to Cat’s house. I helped cat organize for the party and after that, I wore my prettiest clothes and did heavy make up to get rid of the scars in my face.
Finally, the party started and I saw Beck coming with Jade. I felt a little jealous, but I averted that thinking they are just friend. The party was going on full speed, and I finally decided that it was the time to confess my love to Beck.
“Hi, Beck, I want to say something to you can u come with me for a sec” I said nervously
“Sure” he said. I took him to the corner and uttered to him the 3 magical words
“I love you” I said
“What” he said
“How can you think I like you, you are the ugliest girl I ever saw in my life” he said giving me a disgusting look.
“I like Jade” He said
That was it for me; suddenly my whole world came crashing down. I had lost my last chance and my only support. I got over the heartbreaking phase after one week. I had changed completely after that night. I turned stronger. I left that middle school……………. Planning a REVENGE for my enemies.
Everything is fair in love and war
A strange pain rushes through my body, growing and spreading each minute. I wake up to find a ceiling, a stretcher and a saline stand. My back feels like its being poked by 100 needles piercing into my skin. In the blink of an eye I recall how I got here in the first place, one by one pieces fall into the puzzle in my mind.
Flash back
“Wat up Elena, are you coming to the restaurant with me after school, I have a surprise for you” says Damon
I’ll see to it, anyways I’m getting late for bio class, bye” I say
I don’t know why I feel like there’s going to be a big commotion today between Damon and Stefan. They always have to compete!
“When will Damon and Stefan stop treating me like a toy? I get it, they both love me, yet I feel so alone! They don’t understand I DON’T NEED more problems” I say, actually it comes out more like a scream.
“At Halldon CI students are expected to behave, I hope you Ms.Elena don’t need a special invitation” yells Mr.Nordoff
The teacher leaves and I just want to go home but why would I step into that drunkard’s house whom people call my father but he treats me like a dog or may be less! Daily beatings, not one moment of peace, sometimes i wonder what my beautiful mother was thinking when marrying this THING.
I was lost deep in my thoughts when the lunch bell rang:
I could clearly hear the fight in the hallway, wait a minute that sounds familiar i just hope it’s not what i think it is. I quickly run outside to see my fear come true…
“She loves me, I’ll beat you to death if you dare look at her” and there goes Damon flying back
“It’s my choice if I want to take her to a date leave us alone, you STALKER” shouts Damon
“Not again, Damon and Stefan stop!! You know what, I’m going home” I say
“Wait I’ll drop you Elena” they both say at the same time WOW
We start heading to my home when they both begin arguing over who Elena loves more. “That’s it, stop the car or else I’m jumping off” I shriek
I walk out in tears. As I tread across the middle of the road, I start to think that I made a big mistake in thinking that both of them are worth my love.
“Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppppppp
Then all of a sudden there’s a strong light coming straight for me. Stefan and Damon yell some words I can’t understand. Abruptly, I fly backwards and then it happens. The moment of death creeping so close I hardly can react. I fall into complete darkness in the middle of nowhere…
The doctor comes in making loud footsteps and tells me something that leaves a hole in my heart or I can say Damon’s heart.
i’m just wondering if poems are allowed? would someone kindly reply thank you 😀
Yup! Poems are definitely allowed!
Summary: Snape is reminded of why he must endure all the anguish and torture at the hands of the Dark Lord.
A/N: Not including the title or quote, the story itself is exactly 500 words. Stertorous is a synonym for breathless.

“Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fall.” – Confucius

Stertorous
His breath was labored, harsh and shattering against the muted spectators. He fought to crawl to his knees, hands barely supporting most of his weight.
This was all Potter’s fault, the arrogant bastard. He was just like his father. There had to be some way of salvaging this catastrophe. He managed to grit out from between clenched teeth, “My lord, if you would just allow me to explain—”
The blood-red curse ignited Snape’s body once more, liquid fire searing his limbs with its hatred. Oh, the Dark Lord was furious. Every nerve was strained in acidic tension, drowning his thoughts with melting pain, and dowsing his throat with anguish. His shredded screams couldn’t even reach his own ears as they began to bleed. His fingers clawed at the cold marble floor beneath his convulsing body. Every bone in his body felt like it was rupturing into countless fragments.
He was going to be insane at this rate if the Dark Lord didn’t remove the Cruciatus Curse.
To his relief, He did release the spell, and Snape lay still, shallow and ragged pants the only resonances in the dim chamber. He kept his head bowed.
“Return to your assignment, Severus, and be sure to keep Potter from nosing through my affairs again.”
“Yes, my lord,” and he all but fled from His presence, Apparating straight into the Hog’s Head. He shakily pushed himself up, grabbing the grimy counter to support his weight. Albus’ brother glared at him over the bar. Now was not the time to bring out old grudges. “I need to use your Floo, Aberforth.”
The man nodded roughly. “Just make it quick before someone sees you here.”
He made his way unsteadily to the fireplace, and let himself be pulled in and through the emerald flames to the Headmaster’s office. Falling uncouthly to the stone floor, he fought down the wave of queasiness, blinking to remove the blurriness from his swollen eyes.
“Albus, the—”
Something shifted to his left. His attention pivoted to the previously unnoticed occupant. There was someone sitting in the Potion Master’s usual chair.
The person finally came into focus, and he was met by Potter’s frightened visage. He seethed. How dare Albus allow the boy to see him like this? And was that pity in his gaze?
Anger worse than any he had ever conceived before, including the time the selfish boy entered his Pensieve, formed, clenching his innards excruciatingly. He sucked in a deep lungful of air to give the boy a verbal lashing, a sneer consuming his pain-wrought features.
And then he met Potter’s vivid green eyes.
A quiet moment passed as his rage resolved into determination. He knew without a doubt he’d make sure Potter made it through this war alive, even if he had to sacrifice his own sanity to save the ungrateful brat.
The inhalation escaped his lungs, the Oath commanding his entire being. He was breathless with a revived cause.
He would do it for Lily.
Wow! These entries are all fantastic! Keep ’em coming!
Summary: In which Lucy drinks tea and watches her cousin. Implied cousincest.
Exactly 414 words without the title.
—
Over a Cup of Tea
You gaze at your annoying twerp of a cousin out of the corner of your eye. He is laughing at a joke Teddy has just made, white teeth flashing in a grin but he stifles it with a reluctant hand.
The sight causes an uncomfortable wrench in your gut. You don’t know exactly why; you never do when you see him.
He leans towards his almost-brother, whispering to him. Mischief lights up his eyes as the two of them glance towards Victoire.
You drink your scalding tea, no longer being able to keep your eyes on him when he’s looking at another. You’ve seen it too many times. You know that he likes Victoire despite Teddy’s affections. Who wouldn’t? She is as beautiful as ice, and sometimes just as cold, but that never seems to keep the boys away.
How can you compare to that?
You are just a Plain Jane, not particularly interesting or pretty, even if your father says otherwise. You have too many freckles to fit your face and your red lank hair is a constant charge of static.
Even your sister Molly is better looking than you, big nose and all.
The tea goes down the wrong way, and you splutter, awkwardly enough. Roxanne pauses in her story to ask if you’re okay. All you can manage is a feeble nod.
Despite your better judgement, you look up and catch his eyes. You almost choke on your tea again, but you flush bright pink instead (like that’s any better, though). Your own eyes widen at what you see in his. You turn away quickly.
Was that concern behind his heavy hazel scrutiny?
No… no, it couldn’t be. Just a trick of the light, you tell yourself.
But you have to know, so you meet his intent look again. And it’s something even more surprising.
The concern has softened into… something that you can’t quite piece together. But that’s good, right? Because at least that soft look is directed towards you, whatever it may be.
So you offer a timid smile, taking a sip of your cooling drink, hoping that your instincts are right.
The grin you receive for your efforts is dazzling, blinding, knocking the breath right out from your lungs.
And you choke on your tea again.
But you know that his smile wasn’t mocking, so you don’t mind so much that he saw you make a fool of yourself.
Because you are the one he’s gazing at now.

An alternative ending for Romeo and Juliet (in modern English)
The story is from the point where Friar Laurence gives Juliet the idea of pretending to be dead and is about to send Romeo the letter explaining their plan.
Friar Laurence tore the letter he had written for Romeo, he needed to go to Romeo and discuss the matter himself; he had begun regretting his involvement with the relationship between Romeo and Juliet. He had believed that their love would end the enmity between the Capulets and Montagues but after the death of Tybalt, their enmity had only grown. However what was really scarring him was Juliets threats of ending her life for a man she had met only a few days ago, although he was her husband now, her behavior was not love but an unhealthy obsession. As Friar Laurence reached the cell where Romeo was hiding, his heart sunk at what he was about to do.
“Friar, you have arrived, do you have any news of my beloved Juliet” Romeo rushed to Friar
“You just saw her yesterday, didn’t you?” Friar Laurence wanted to prolong what he had to say for as long as possible.
“Every moment I spend without her is like a millennium, I feel like I am a bird without wings, I feel so incomplete…”
“Juliet is married to Paris, she wants me to tell you to stay away from her life, she does not want to be with you.”
The craze in the eyes of Romeo was quickly replaced with sorrow which as quickly was replaced with anger. “If your words are true, Paris will not live another day.”
Friar Laurence punched Romeo to stop him, “Have you no regards for the human life, it is this immaturity of yours due to which you killed Tybalt, if you had truly loved Juliet you would not have murdered her cousin and ruined your chances with her. You are a foolish infatuated child who is not ready for a relationship with Juliet, in a few days when it’s just you two, away from your families you will not be happy. You will not be happy because you have abandoned every being in your life for one another but are not able to abandon your ego. “ Friar Laurence sighed he could not do this his interference had already caused enough trouble he had to let Romeo know the truth “Juliet is waiting for you, she has killed herself in the eyes of her family for you.”
“You came” Juliet said as she awoke in her tombstone
“Juliet, I love you, but we cannot do this.” Romeo said to his wife
Juliet nodded in agreement “When I took the medicine, I was physically not moving but I could hear everything, I heard my family crying for me and I realized that I can’t just be dead for them…but I can’t leave you either.”
“I have an idea…how about we get out of this tombstone talk to our paren’ts, apologize and try to be together” Romeo smiled knowing what Juliet’s response would be.
“They’ll kill us” Juliet said looking at Romeo’s smile
“Hey, it’s better than killing ourselves”
BLINDED TRUST
Based on ICARLY
“Carly the dinner’s ready come downstairs”
“I’m coming mom in 15 min, I have uummm some work” I yell
“Today I must face it once and for all, my curiosity will kill me if I don’t” I mutter as I head down to the basement
I was warned to stay away from the cupboard, but today I’m going to cross the line which kept me away from opening this mysterious thing, it’s impossible to stay away. From the day this cupboard was brought to my house, I had this strange feeling, as if something inside was calling me. I carefully peeked inside, at first I couldn’t see anything, but as I surveyed the cupboard something started to shine. It was a picture of my best friend Sam short for Samantha, but there was a message written on it saying “stay away from me”.
Thousand thoughts raced across my mind. I was in shock, how can I stay away from my better half. Sam’s friendship is the picture to my frame; I couldn’t possibly stay away from her! I slammed the door shut and tried to erase all the unwanted thoughts in my mind.
“That’s it I need some answers, how did this end up here and what type of indication is this” I said firmly.
I ran to Sam’s house, but the blizzard outside was like piercing needles of snow and ice. I knocked on the door, but there was no reply. I knocked again, this time harder and finally, Sam opened the door. I felt relieved after seeing Sam’s face; her beauty was like the rising sun over a crystal sea. But, something was weird about the way Sam was looking at me; there was a strange pain in her eyes. I could tell she was cooking because of the knife she held in her hands. Sam looked at me and slowly her smile disappeared. Then she raised the knife….
Oh, I love it!
The formatting surprised me, since I tend to insert quotes at the beginning of my stories as well, and I absolutely had to comment!
Snape and Lily. Goodness, I remember how immensely the “”After all this time?” “Always.”” line had impacted me. It was – I don’t know. I just can’t seem to find the words to describe it…
Nice fanfiction! I’ve always cringed at the way both Romeo and Juliet died, and took so many lives along with them. They didn’t even get a happy ending. Your fanfiction was a great read, and I really like how you ended it. It’s really bittersweet.
Aw, thank you for the review! Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Ryuuji Takasu, (Toradora) meets Marechiyo Youshiayamenosuki Nikkotaroemon Omaeda (from Bleach)
“OMAEDA!!!”
“Captain Soifon!” says Omaeda, shoving his sixth bag of rice crackers behind him while trying to get his feet off his desk ASAP.
Soifon walks in, her face darkens as her eyes survey the scene before her. Rice cracker crumbs were all over her lieutenant’s pile of unfinished paperwork, and there were even some rice cracker bits scattered over her chair…
Omaeda follows her gaze to her chair, and sweat drops, “I’m so sorry, Captain! Please don’t kill me!!!” he says, going on one knee.
Soifon smiled, and Omaeda’s eyes bulge. His. Captain. Just. Smiled. “C-captain?”
“Come in, Takasu,” says Soifon. A guy with scary eyes walks into the room. He’s wearing cleaning gloves and carrying a bucket full of utensils. “Omaeda, Mr. Takasu here will be helping me to ram some order into your life.” With a smirk, Soifon walked out of the room.
The two stand there in silence. Takasu surveys the scene with narrowed eyes, his eyebrows twitching with annoyance.
“Omaeda-san!” he says, startling Omaeda, “Please allow me to clean your office!” Omaeda’s jaw drops as Takasu rolls up his sleeves, and pulls out a washcloth. In a blink of an eye, the whole pile of paperwork has fallen on the floor, and Takasu was wiping the table furiously. Omaeda sweat drops again, and bends down to collect the scattered paper work, but was bowled over by an over-enthusiastic Takasu. Omaeda lies on the floor, stunned, as Takasu runs around like a maniac.
Suddenly, as if a kido spell had been used, the whole room was clean. Except for one place: Omaeda’s corner.
Before Omaeda could say anything, Takasu was ripping aside the well stacked boxes Omaeda had used to hide the spot, and preparing to clean it.
“NO!!!” Omaeda yelled, pouncing on poor Takasu, nearly squashing him, “You can’t clean that, tha’s my secret 300-year-old mold collection!!! You can’t~mmph!” Omaeda raises his head while trying to spit the gag Soifon stuffed into his mouth.
Ignoring Omaeda’s silent please, Soifon turns to Takasu, “Can you get that mold off?”
“Of course!” Takasu frowns in serious concentration, “No mold can persist against the secret Takasu family cleaning technique!” Takasu reaches deep into his bucket, and pulls out a toothbrush and a mixture of something or other. Holding up the toothbrush, Takasu furiously attacks Omaeda’s 300-year-old mold collection while Omaeda starts crying.
******************************
Takasu stands up finally, “All done!” he says. He bows apologetically to Omaeda, “I’m sorry, Omaeda-san.”
“No worries,” Soifon whacks Omaeda on the head, “He was just being an idiot. Thank you, please come again.”
“My 300-year-old mold collection…” Omaeda whispers sadly, “…I’ll just eat some rice crackers to cheer up myself!” Omaeda reaches into his cabinet and realized it was empty.
“Oh,” said Soifon, looking nonchalant, “I forgot to tell you I asked Takasu to get rid of your stash of that. It was distracting you from your paperwork.”
“NO!!!” Omaeda’s anguished cry was heard by all whom were in the Gotei 13.
I luv Damon in vampire diaries!!!!!1
Can you write something based off a movie… if not, can you write it based off a book, which is based off a movie?
Viola’s Wishful Thinking
Many moons have passed yet you’re still irked;
Unable to pick the ripe olive and declare as yours
Your head aching, focused solely on the olive, thou does not see me: your lover,
Your silent observer whom has sacrificed so much to be by your side.
I, Viola, your faithful servant, hasten to bring you a ladder, yet
In actuality I’m rather reluctant to help you reach fair Olivia-
Oh
I love you, dear Master Orsino-
Why can’t thou discern?
I costume as Cesario in ursurp’d attire but unveiled~
I’m Viola, a maiden whose love is true to thee,
The quantity innumerable more
Than my own love to myself-
Why must you pain me so, asking me to aid thee woo
Nay the man I love but the lady he longs for?
Time and again I have told both you and me:
I should not love a man like thee, however
I do and I subconsciously over-love thee,
And never surfeiting, I will do so forever…
Mayhap one day when the sky’s a kingfisher’s blue
Happy I will be when you suddenly appear before me
Under the refreshing shade of an Olive tree
Having seen through the genuine affliction that I have endured for thee
Of those roots are unearthed- your freed me of my enclosed silent agony!
And perchance thou shall cherish my deep love for you?
Oh perchance thou shall return it and declare, on one knee
“I love you”?
Sure, a happy ending for you and I, if you also
Thought of me during every moonrise while watching the fireflies
But alas, ‘tis impossible as if hippopotamuses were to fly
This is simply only my
Wishful thinking…
Viola’s Wishful Thinking
Many moons have passed yet you’re still irked;
Sure, a happy ending for you and I, if you also
Thought of me during every moonrise while watching fireflies
But alas, ‘tis impossible as if elephants were to fly
This is simply only my
Wishful thinking…
BTW: this is a description of the series of thoughts/feelings that Viola feels/thinks when Count Orsino askes her to help him win over Olivia (from Twelfth Night by Shakespeare)
If anyone is wondering “The Mirage In The Mind” is a poem i created, inspired by the book “Glass” by Ellen Hopkins!
American Vampire
1943- Taipan, island 20 miles off the coast of Japan
The tunnel was damp, reeking of sweat and death. I could taste blood in my throat. Licking my cracked lips, I heard my comrades breathing heavily beside me as we fled, running blindly into the dark. Our footsteps echoed off the dark walls. They were coming. Coal black skin stretched out over muscular, human-like bodies but whose limbs ended with curled, sharp claws. No eyes, noses or ears, only greedy, gaping mouths lined with rows of jagged teeth. Fleshy pink tongues, triple the size of a human’s, whipped around freely as thick saliva slid down their chins.
The American government sent us. The island was infested with vamps, our deaths inevitable. I suppressed the urge to vomit and forced my legs to keep moving. They were so close. Their bodies hid in the shadows as they hunted us, crawling madly over each other in waves, thirsty for blood. We reached a bend and our platoon leader stopped suddenly. Struggling to breathe, he doubled over. When he looked up, his expression made me stumble backwards.
I panted, “What’s wr-?” I stopped midsentence and grabbed his arm.
His sleeve was soaked in crimson. Without hesitating, I ripped it off. Despair and fear dawned on me so intensely I staggered back, fingers closing tightly around the tattered piece of blood-soaked cloth. Teeth marks had torn at his skin. Fresh, scarlet blood trickled from the wound. Words caught in my throat. He was bitten. He would turn.
“No,” I said hoarsely.
Slowly, he reached into his uniform and produced a small, wrinkled old photograph of a young boy. In the pause, I heard them approaching behind us, hissing, hungry for our flesh.
“My son.” He said slowly and shoved the photo into my hands, “For him.”
“Wait!” I began, my voice barely a whisper. But he didn’t listen.
In both fists he held a grenade. Flicking the pins off, he turned the corner and ran, straight into hell. For a moment, I saw them swarm around his body, a mass of black bodies writhing over him, ripping his limbs apart.
Instinctively, I threw myself back behind the wall, seizing the remaining soldiers, screaming “GET DOWN!”
The precise moment after I said those two words, the sound of the explosion deafened me in both ears. Disoriented, I stumbled to my feet. No one knew whether this tunnel would end. In essence, all we had was the faint, impractical hope that we’d make it.
As we escaped, I looked behind me. In the unnatural silence, a familiar green army helmet rolled around on the ground. As I ran, I kept my eyes on it, unable to look away. The distance between us grew until it was a small speck of green, wobbling slightly. It kept moving, slower and slower. I broke my gaze when I knew it was still.
A poetic summary of Awakening: “Chasing Yesterday” by Robin Wasserman
In the ruins of an exploded building lies a girl,
Unaware of what passed and what future holds
The truth, so near, yet unreachable
Cradled by lies, not wanting to let go
Her hands touch the mirror, fearing she will disappear
Betrayal. A strong word only those who confront, understand
She flies high, determined to acquire the lost pieces of life,
Not wanting to fall into the thin veil of lies
Him, who she thought will heal her,
But once again her trust back fired
Betrayed she was, not one but twice
Surrendering, she embraces the truth, the ugly past
she is a caged bird anew,
Controlled, tortured, and made to cause harm
People say “you have a unique power”
She says “that’s my weakness”,
Her power was “their” benefit, not hers
Yup! That’s fine.
(based on the film “Only when I dance” 2009 by Beadie Finzi)
Lights, Camera, Action!
The curtains are lifting
Unfolding the million faces,
With eyes that glisten
The cameras roll
As the dim light focuses on her
While the director cues ACTION!!!!
The soft wind gently patting her rosy cheeks
While she does a pirouette
She feels like the earth,
Rotating every second
The silence in the audience disheartens her
But, the utter silence breaks like glass
With roaring “oohs” and “ahhs”
She leaps across the stage
Setting fire at every step
Her crimson red tutu,
Viewable from meters away
She ends her magic, smiles
And the curtains roll down

A fairy-tale love
(based on the book “My boyfriend is a monster: under his spell”)
Before you came into my life I was a person without a heart.
Love was just a word until I met you
Your beauty is like a sunset on an ocean shore
Though we live in different worlds, our love is inseparable
I know we are completely opposite, but opposites do attract.
Before u came into my life I was a person without a heart.
I know you can’t see me in pain, neither can I
I want to fight away your problems and difficulties
I will support you till our love lasts
We will cherish each other in our hearts
We will laugh and cry together
Before u came into my life I was a person without a heart
The twinkle in your eyes gives me relief
Your million dollar smile will always be etched into my heart
You always make me laugh by your poetic words
I will stand by you when you need me
Before u came into my life I was a person without a heart

My name is not important. I’m not a dear friend whom has died—poor Ginger, nor am I dear Black Beauty whom I have lost from the smog of this village, and I’m not Merrylegs, whom had all the luck to be sent to a vicar and live happily ever after.
I’m just a horse, like any other, worn out from what felt like a thousand seasons worth of carriage pulling. Breaking free from my cage with what little strength I had left, here I am now, wandering about on this cliff.
Standing in the rain, I don’t even know why I came here, of all places. Ah, rain feels so nice, falling down with my tears, brushing them away like my mother’s gentle tongue; comforting me so, whispering “don’t cry”. I feel as if I’m inexistent like a ghost whom has not passed. No one is looking for this missing horse, and no travelers stop by to see if I’m alright. I’m alone, but the rain stays beside me. Its droplets soak through and sting the many layers of partly-healed gashes and bruises on my forearms and crest, bringing me back to reality.
It hurts.
I bow my neck and feel the soothing rain drench my mane. A cold breeze passes by and my hooves slip on the wet pebbles on the edge of the cliff. Looking down at the churning waters, I wonder, ‘If I fall and break, will you catch me? Will you throw up your waves and cushion my fall? Or will you simply watch me fall? If I do fall, then I’ll see darling Ginger once more. If you will break my fall, then mayhap I’ll live a year more…’
*****
Suddenly, something cold falls on the tip of my ear. I look up, and see white flowers dancing in the sky. My ear twitches, voices. I turned around, my neck muscles stiff from the years of wearing a bearing rein, and I see them. Trudging slowly through the rain was a family walking beside a worn old horse-thin but saddled comfortably. They look sad, as if they had lost something. The rain slowly recedes to a slight drizzle, as if saying it was time to leave. I took a step towards them, and then stopped when I heard a voice call out for help. Turning around, I see a young boy reminding me a bit of Little Joe Greene from master’s house. I lower myself, and he slides onto my back. I get up, and shift myself a bit to balance his weight, and I carefully trotted through the light layered snow towards the family. The little boy slid off my back and talks to the others. Then he turns back to me with an excited look and said the only word I understand: “stay”.
The rain stops, and a rainbow comes out, lighting up the blue-gray sky. I snort happily; perhaps this winter will be the season for a miracle.

Date : A Naruto Fan Fiction
Naruto shot awake at the sound of his alarm.
Oh crap, I’m gonna be late!
He jumped out of bed and rushed into the bathroom. He quickly showered and brushed his teeth. Glancing at the clock, he cursed again.
Hurrying out his front door, he made his way down the stairs of his apartment to the street. His first stop was Ino’s flower shop, which unfortunately took him in the opposite direction from his ultimate destination. He walked brusquely down the street, waving to all the villagers that greeted him. He was about to turn the corner, when a stall caught his eye. It was full of beautiful figures and charms, obviously hand crafted. He went up to the vendor.
“Hey what are these charms for?” He asked, picking one up.
“They all mean different things. Some are for luck, some for gratitude, and the like. The one you are holding is for love.” The woman explained.
Naruto looked closer at it. “Love, huh?”
It was really nice. A red crystal, surrounded by small, intricate curls of metal, suspended on a red string.
“I think I’ll take it.”
He paid the vendor, and waved goodbye, continuing on his way. He kept walking for a few minutes until he reached the flower shop.
“Hi there Ino!” He called, stepping inside. “You got that order ready for me?”
“Hey Naruto!” She replied, coming over to the counter. “Yup, it’s all ready. A dozen red roses, just like you asked.”
“Perfect, thanks Ino!”
She smiled. “No problem. Just say hello for me, okay?”
Naruto smiled back. “Of course! See you later.”
“See you.”
He left the shop and went the other way. Just one more stop. He glanced at his watch.
I’m going to be a little late….
He quickened his pace, making his way to Ichiraku’s. He sighed in relief when he saw the familiar curtains up ahead.
“Old man, hey, two miso ramen to go please!” He called, sitting on one of the stools.
“Coming right up Naruto!”
Naruto settled at the counter, checking his watch every few minutes. He was going to be even later at this point….
“Here you are! Two miso ramen, piping hot and ready to go.”
Naruto looked up and grinned. “Hey, thanks old man! I’ll come back for more later, okay?”
Teuchi laughed. “Okay, see you then.”
Naruto got up and left the stand. Now he could finally get to where he needed to be. He walked until he was at the edge of the village, then turned down a dirt path and continued until he got to a clearing. It sunny and warm, surrounded by trees and wildflowers. He made his way to the tall oak tree on the opposite side. Kneeling down, he placed the charm, roses, and one of the bowls of ramen in front of the stone there.
Gingerly, he reached out and ran his fingers over the name engraved on the stone.
“Hello, Sasuke.”

“Beep” my phone rang
Uggh who can it be at 5:00 in the morning. I got up clumsily and thought this better be good.
“Hello, you better tell me you are dying, do you realise how early it is” I yelled.
“Danny is this how you talk to your mom”
Oh crap “hi mom wats up, I was just-
“So as I was saying you are heading to boarding school tomorrow 1 pm sharp now start packing”
Wait wha-beep
I really wish she would forget about transferring me to boarding school; I’m 16 for god sake, so what, if I get into a few fights or have short temper!!!
As I was putting the phone on the table, I realised my arms were still aching from the fight yesterday, I got up and headed for the bathroom and let the warm water sooth my pain.
By third period I was sent to the principal’s office!
I turned the cold metal handle and pushed the door only to find Principal Matt sitting in his chair, slightly leaning back making the chair rock. I pulled out one of the two chairs and sat resting my arms and stared at him with the just-say-what-my-punishment-is-already stare!!!
“Mr. Danny Desai, before we commence our conversation would you like to share any latest news?” Principle matt looked like he was in his mid forties with the wrinkles appearing on his face. His suit looked cheap paired with his weird polka-dotted tie and brown pants. I don’t wanna know how his shoes look like eww!
“Are you paying attention?” His words spoke through my thoughts.
“Uhh..ohh..Hmm not really life is pretty boring, same old routine: Wake up, came to school, have a fight, principal’s office, detention and back home you know what I mean” I said with attitude behind the words.
“You should’ve heard from your mom about Boarding school, you are leaving right now”.
SAY WHAT! My voice seemed to echo throughout the office.
“I thought that was tomorrow, I mean I have a huge party today”
“Well say bye to the party, the cars outside your clothes are packed and you can head off!” He exclaimed.
“Who wants to stay in this Garbage Can anyways” I said making my way out the door!!
The flight was lengthy and tedious but, it would be better compared to Boarding school!!
When I arrived my first impression was “HOLY”!! The school that appeared in front of my eyes was breath-taking! It resembled a castle built during the 1400s but now a modern update!! Behind the school were forests of tree, a place that intrigued me to discover!!
I grabbed my luggage and stepped inside, my heartbeats went wild from the sight I saw inside: I always strived for this luxury!!! And now here I am on cloud nine, Boarding schools aren’t that bad after all. But who knew what this school had in store for me: Would my life take a turn for better or worse? Well, I guess the only way to find out was step inside and let life lead me up its mysterious road.
Sequel/Continuation to the Heroes of Olympus series
We fall. The air rushes past us, hot with the breath of the horrors below us. We tumble through the air, so fast that I’m left wondering how the earth extends so far beneath us. The light from the world above is fading fast, and I forget where the sky extends. But it doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is that Annabeth is with me. We cling to each other, out of desperation, out of necessity. One thought races through my mind. I must not lose her. I remember the pain of forgetting her, the longing of memory, and the need for her company. I cling tighter to her, wishing I could never let go. Our bodies interlock, and we tumble through the air as one. I feel her heart beating, her fear, and her pain. It strengthens my resolve. We will not die here, in this hell. I will do whatever it takes to save her. Even if it means sacrificing myself. Even if it means sacrificing the world. We are both aware of the horrors to come. But as long as we’re together, we won’t go down without a fight. I feel the end of the fall coming, the earth reaching to embrace us. “Come,” Gaea calls out.
The panting of the hordes of monsters loosens rocks from their holds in the chasm. The end of this precious moment of relief is coming. Annabeth draws her knife from her waist, and I pull out Riptide. The gleam of the blade ignites the small hope of survival in our hearts, but it is outmatched in this endless darkness. The panting of the monsters stops for a moment, as if they are puzzled by our bravery, until one monster lets out a giant roar. The earth shakes with it, as the monsters bang their weapons and stomp the floor. But our nerves are as steeled as the Celestial bronze in our weapons. “Let’s go, Seaweed Brain.” I can almost see her smiling in the darkness. “Sure thing, Wise Girl,” I call back.
The ground rushes toward us, as if calling us to our destruction. “Not this time!” I shout. I stab Riptide into the ground, and the ground bursts underneath us, a gush of water halting our descent. A salt water spring thousands of feet underground. I laugh. The curse of Achilles, along with the source of my power, powers me. I feel invincible. Annabeth takes a stance at my back, and brings me back to reality. I am not invincible. I am capable of dying. I am capable of losing. But not this time. We fight as one, backs to each other, turning, ducking, dodging, slashing, parrying, and killing. In Olympus, even Ares is surprised by our valour. The battle quickly ends, and the monsters retreat for now. But I know they’ll be back. But for now, I have a goal, the Doors of Death, and someone to protect, Annabeth. I help her up, and we trudge on.

“It has to be done, Moony.”
The pair exchanged furtive glances. One tall, dark and formerly handsome with a tumble of ebony locks. The other, pale with premature lines; light brown hair speckled with gray. Sirius and Remus. Marauder and Marauder. Their friendship had conquered the sands of time.
Remus ground the inside of his cheek between his teeth with such ferocity that the coppery, metallic taste of blood-deadly war paint-pooled around his tongue.
The time turner lay between them on the polished oak table, mundane looking in stillness; reflecting all light but exuding none.
Remus, extended an arm and seized the spherical shaped object; hourglass embedded craftily in the middle. Silently he read, I mark the hours, every one, Nor have I yet outrun the Sun. My use and value, unto you, Are gauged by what you have to do.
“Sirius,” he murmured; propelling a contemplative glance in the direction of his comrade. He couldn’t seem to find any remnants of the joyous prankster. Azkaban had stripped Sirius of what he had once been… had left him a gaunt, hollow man who was no more than an empty husk of his former being. “Padfoot. If we do this. It would rewrite history would it not?”
“That’s the point Remus!” Sirius snapped; voice slicing the hushed stillness. He pushed desperate fingers through his knotted mass of hair, gaze shuttering. “You don’t know, Moony. You don’t know what it was like.” His tone had taken upon a mournful undercurrent to it; pungent sorrow threaded within the consonants. The tenor of his voice suggested he was referring to the nightmarish ordeal he had endured within the walls of Azkaban. The walls that could not be breached.
“Okay,” Remus agreed at last. The word tasted like poison in his mouth; refusing to melt on his tongue.
Remus curled his fingers around the tarnished gold; linked into a glinting chain. The line of the burnished object fell over the swift curve of his palm. The hue of the green dancing in his gaze had become anchored to the segments of the exposed chain, which had not been concealed by the wrap of his fingers.
He twisted the knob situated on the side of the time turner, and the world fell apart around him.

Christmas at the Burrow
**** ***************
“Harry and Hermione dear!” said a woman, bustling over to them, “I’m so glad you decided to spend Christmas at the Burrow!”
Carrying Hedwig’s cage with one hand, and a trunk with the other, Harry smiled ruefully, “Frankly, I think my relatives are much happier without my-err, presence.”
“Nonsense, Harry!” Mrs. Weasley declared, giving them three a peck on the cheek, “Come in! This week’s a bit hectic, with all our Christmas preparations…”
Suddenly, something-two things-pounced on the three, “Finally!” said Fred-or was it George- in Hermione’s ear, “We thought you’d never get here! Mum, may we escort our lovely guests to their rooms?”
“…” Ron turned to Hermione and Harry, “Fred and George are never this nice… I bet they’re up to no good.”
***********************
Hermione was jerked out of her flashback as Mrs. Weasley said, “Hermione, dear, take this,” she handed Hermione a pile of dirty laundry, “Won’t you take this outside and clean it, please? Ronald, you go dress the turkey.”
Hermione hefted up the basket and went outside. Pulling out her wand, she was about to cast a cleaning spell when-
“Hermione, oi!” Harry yelled, waving his arms up and down.
Hermione looked up in surprise to see a large flock of chickens scampering towards her. In a flash, Hermione was bowled over by the lot, and laundry flew everywhere.
*******************************
Ron was inside, stuffing the last spoonful of gravy in the turkey while Ginny nonchalantly tied a sparkly pink bow onto the turkey’s neck.
Ron groaned, “GINNY, WHY IN THE NAME OF MERLIN’S PANTS?! I TOLD YOU NOT TO DO THAT!” Ginny looked up with wide innocent eyes. “NOW THE TURKEY LOOKS LIKE IT JUST STEPPED OUT OF MADAME MALKIN’S!”
Ginny shook her head, “Don’t be such a spoilsport, Ron. The turkey looks beautiful~don’t you, little darling?” she said, cooing at it.
Giving himself a face palm, Ron decided to take a stroll outside to calm himself. Before he could set a foot out of the door, a large crash was heard from the yard.
********************************
Harry stared at the chickens as they danced around Hermione with clothing all over their heads.
“Hermione!” Ron appeared beside them, panting, his wand smoking slightly. He surveyed the scene with an exasperated sigh, “If you wanted to dress the turkey with Ginny so badly why didn’t you say so?!”
Before Hermione could protest her innocence, a sudden eruption of laughter sounded behind them. Neither of the three were surprised to see Fred and George.
Hermione moaned, “Oh for Merlin pant’s sake, it was you two…”
Ron looked surprised, “So in actuality you didn’t want to dress the chickens?”
“Of course not!” Harry shook his head and grinned mischievously, “Poor Fred and George, when Mrs. Weasley sees this she’ll probably decide to add them to the menu…”
“Aw c’mon, be a good sport!” said the twins with a wink, “Merry Christmas!”

Ryuuji Takasu (Toradora) meets Marechiyo Omaeda (from Bleach)
“OMAEDA!!!”
“Yes Captain Soifon!” says Omaeda, shoving his sixth bag of rice crackers behind him while trying to get his feet off his desk ASAP.
Soifon walks in, anger veins popping out as she surveyed the scene before her. Rice cracker crumbs were all over her lieutenant’s pile of unfinished paperwork, and there were even some pieces scattered over her prized possesions…
Omaeda follows her gaze, and sweat drops, “I’m so sorry, Captain! Please don’t kill me!!!” he says, going his knees.
“Omaeda, Takasu-san here will be helping me to pound some order into your life.” With a smirk, Soifon walked out of the room.
The two stand there in silence. Takasu surveys the scene with narrowed eyes, his eyebrows twitching with annoyance.
“Omaeda-san!”he says, startling Omaeda, “Please allow me to clean your office!” Omaeda’s jaw drops as Takasu rolls up his sleeves, and pulls out a washcloth.
Well, except for one place: Omaeda’s corner.
Before Omaeda could say anything, Takasu was ripping aside the neatly stacked boxes Omaeda had used to hide the spot, and prepared to clean it.
“NO!!!” Omaeda yelled, pouncing on poor Takasu, nearly squashing him, “You can’t clean that, that’s my secret 300-year-old mold collection!!! You can’t~mmph!” Omaeda raises his head while trying to spit the gag Soifon stuffed into his mouth.
Ignoring Omaeda’s silent please, Soifon turns to Takasu, “Can you get that abhorrent mold off?”
“Of course!” Takasu frowns in serious concentration,“No mold can persist against the secret Takasu family cleaning technique!”Takasu reaches deep into his bucket, and pulls out a toothbrush and a mixture of something or other.
Yes, that’s OK.
Thanks that is great!
Pranks Day!
It’s Tuesday morning, the first day back at school. Bruno is usually NEVER awake any time before 9:00. But today was a special day. Right at 4:30am, Bruno jumped awake. He rushed about getting dressed as quietly as possible so as to not wake Boots. He usually wasn’t this thoughtful, but today was a special day. It was then 4:45. He ran to the dining hall gulped down breakfast then dashed up to dormitory 3 again. By now it was 5:00.
Bruno spent the next hour getting ready for the big day ahead. Water balloons full of “borrowed” slime from Elmer’s room, water balloons full of water, a jar of large spiders, some confetti, some fake pens that break and spill ink all over your hands when you try to write with them, some shovels, trip wire, a bowling ball, glow-in-the-dark paint, and lastly a couple of packs of gum that shock you when you try to take a piece. Now he was all set.
Now Bruno scurried over to Elmer’s dorm and entered as quietly as possible. He knew how terrified Elmer was by snails and slugs so he dribbled slime around the room to make it look like slugs were everywhere.
Next, he went to Sidney’s dorm to put 3 bowling balls and a set bowling pins near the door. Bruno knew Sidney was the CLUMSIEST person in the world.
He also put the pack of shocking gums on Wilbur’s desk. He’s in for a shocker!
Bruno set some other pranks on his other friends and then dashed across campus to the Fish’s cabin to set grand finale prank. Bruno knew that when everyone fell for his pranks they’d all go to the headmaster (Fish) to tattle on him. So Bruno set up a big net that will be on the floor almost invisible. When everyone comes to the Fish they will trigger the trap and be lifted onto the roof, hopefully without the headmaster noticing anything suspicious. Bruno will be waiting for them on the roof. There, he will get all his friends to join him in pranking the Fish.
When he was done setting all of his pranks, he scurried back to his dorm to get all of his books and then ran to his classes. During the day he got dirty looks from everybody, even Boots gave him a disgusted look when Bruno didn’t even prank him. Now it was time for the finale, everything was set. While all the others were scurrying over where the fish lived, Bruno was waiting.
Aaaannnndd…. The net drops! Before they even knew what was happening, everyone was on the roof face to face with none other than the great prankster himself!
“Shhh” Bruno whispered. “Listen”
Everyone listened patiently as Bruno outlined his plan. Everyone agreed silently that it was a good plan so they decided to play along and kill Bruno later.
A few minutes later someone knocked on the Fish’s door. As the Fish stepped out to see who it was….
A cold bucket of slime fell on him! He looked up but saw no one there. When he turned to go inside, he was tripped by a wire set up in front of his door! Then came the feathers, and confetti. He had a good idea about who was behind this. Just as he was about to yell for Bruno 20 water balloons fell on him! And then everyone jumped off the roof, held up a large banner and shouted “HAPPY PRANKS DAY!”
Then they all turned to Bruno and yelled “BRUNO!” then proceeded to chase him around the school, leaving a bewildered headmaster in their wake.
“Since when do we have a pranks day at school?” The Fish scratched his head in wonder.
Silver Lining
This is after the baby Renesmee is born and before the big confrontation with Volturi, in the last book Breaking Dawn. It’s from Leah Clearwater’s point of view.
Word Count: 493 (without Title and little intro above)
I’m walk into the clearing flanked by Sam and Paul. Traditionally for these types of trials the accused is the last one to speak. Stupid if you ask me, because it means that I can’t kick anyone who’s lying. But it’s for the best, I’m already in enough trouble. “You really messed up this time, Leah” Sam whispers, before tying up my hands. I sit down on my stump.
I had a few minutes to prepare, so closing my eyes, I tune out everything until all is silent in my mind. Being a werewolf, silence is rare, once you transform you’re greeted with an onslaught of other peoples thought. So after a while, even your own thoughts seem too loud.
This wasn’t the first time that I’ve ended up in this kind of situation, last time was with Sam. At the time, I hadn’t known the secret werewolf-vampire rivalry or the Quileute history. So I hadn’t understood why Sam had changed or why he left me for my cousin Emily, that is until I changed too. Then I learned about imprinting, and how it’s a stronger version of love at first sight which binds the imprintees together forever.
Jacob was supposed to be different, he understood my pain. When he had broken off from our initial pack to go all lone wolf and protect the Cullens (a.k.a. vampires, who are werewolves only enemy), I took it as a chance to give my heart a break and move on from Sam. For an outsider, it looks great to be the only girl amongst a bunch of muscular, superhero-like boys, but most are also super jerks. So except for my brother Seth, I wasn’t fond of any of them. In fact, I liked Jacob Black least of all. (He was obsessed with Bella. You’d think that he would get the hint, after she punched him in the face for kissing her or even how she chose a vampire over him but I digress.) Somehow, we ended up falling for each other and I couldn’t wait for Bella’s hybrid baby to be born so we could leave.
But lucky me, the day of the baby’s birth, he imprints on her and I get dumped, again. So, you can imagine how I felt when I walked into the Cullen’s house that morning and found him rocking the baby, Renesmee, in his arms. Maybe you’ll understand why I lunged at them. How I couldn’t, didn’t want to stop myself from hurting her. Fortunately, the only thing I did hurt was the sofa. If I had killed her, it would’ve demanded a duel to the death, but since I only attempted, the council and the Cullens are searching for a suitable punishment.
I hadn’t prepared a speech because I figured the real judge was the father, Edward since he could read minds and anything too rehearsed would seem disingenuous. Just then Billy Black said, ” You may begin.”
And so I sat there on my bed with my back propped against the wall and the gun in hand and patiently waited. And though the window was now closed, the wind somehow managed to carry the children’s laughter, their faint sounds of happiness on its breeze. Billy’s words replayed in my head.
“Coyote’s okay if it’s him doing the chasing, but if he gets chased, oh boy then a nightmare erupts.”
But how could I not go after him? Turtle Valley has endured enough hurting from me. If no one else hates life enough to look for him, so be it. I will pay the due.
Already at nineteen I’ve got no proper men to pursue me, a father who does the unmentionable to me, a mother who carries more conversations with her dead mother than her living daughter and I have taken refuge in the friendships built with the lonely cows at the farm.
So what if i choose this path this year. No one who has people to live for and things to expect out of life as ever walked on this path. I’ll pay the due to cease suffering.
As the minutes turn to hours and the fog of the night started to creep out, I began to wonder if Coyote will even come after me tonight. No it must be tonight.
I glanced over at my chair tucked under the doorknob to keep anyone else from coming in. Just then a lump of rock flew through the window and landed at my feet.
“Not much you can do to keep me away dear,” Coyote whispered climbing though the broken window.
I focused on the rock at me feet, but through the corner of my eyes I could see the hunched old man, draped in a black coat with hands so small and fragile it seemed impossible to think that he would be someone capable of inflicting so much pain. He drew close to me, pulled me hair behind my shoulders and whispered into me ear,
“You are lucky I care for you,” with a touch of mockery in his voice he added, “because nobody else ever will.”
He was right. No one will miss me. No one but me.
Suddenly I grasped at what was happening. For all these years I have longed to find a best friend, a soul to confide with, but I realized that I found what I have been searching for, within myself instead.
I lowered the gun pointed at my temples.
“Wait, what are you doing! No! Put it back on your head!” Coyote hissed.
But there was no changing my mind now. I had decided and choose for life instead. Coyote slowly started to disappear before my eyes, the smoke slowly clearing, the shadows started thinning and the sun started to peak though my bedroom window. I was able to breathe clearly. Think clearly and finally love myself clearly.
The children’s faint laughter subdued as they ran playing in the hills. I jostled out of bed and ran for the door, running to catch up with them.
I may have a lack of any fond memories from my life, but it is never too late to start creating new ones.
“Most of the shadows of this life are caused by standing in one’s own sunshine.”

Title: The End
The swing creaks.
The swing groans.
The swing sighs.
I thought things couldn’t, wouldn’t get tired
Here, of all places
But I was wrong.
As I was wrong about so many other things:
Dumbledore.
Harry.
James.
Lily.
Me.
Me.
Snape.
Tired, old, wounded Severus.
Who gave up his life for love and honour
And is yet afraid to die.
When the snake bit me I could feel it coming
The end
Of everything
And maybe I saw heroes, maybe I saw demons
But I felt life ending
And I was happy
Because I could Stop.
Then I came here.
To the swings.
The park.
The sky.
The place where I was last happy
And I could not leave.
Albus always said that we go where we most want to after death
Before we move on,
Before we surrender,
Before we Stop.
He claimed it was like the mirror of Erised
And being able to finally touch,
To finally be,
To finally have the fragile line of secrets and truths break
With the dimensions frozen
Nudging each other like anxious lovers
Before they embrace
And you die.
He chuckled, saying that he and Potter would surely go
To that dirty old train station
For choice and freedom and beginnings.
He then grew serious,
Telling me that I could die in a bed of lilies if I wanted
But I didn’t have to be alone.
So why was I?
Potter, Weasly, Granger –
They were not friends,
Merely shadows bouncing at the speed of light
Wanting to claim the world for fireflies
Who agreed to end the one who forced himself onto the world
As the sun’s imposter.
The sun is bright here, too bright.
And.
I remember when she first pushed off the swing,
Feet outstretched like magnets, drawn to something I failed to see,
Hair shining like a wand lighting the way to something I saw all too well.
Where is she?
I have no doubt that I will see her again
And if I don’t
It doesn’t matter
Because I never left her
After all these years.
It was she who vanished.
Always,
Always Lily who left.
She appears in the drunken road between my memories and dreams
As a half-sketched apparition,
(a sort-of phantom patronus from a past life)
Reminding me that she has no regrets.
I cannot look at her ghost without seeing
Her blood,
Her stupid, reckless, wasteful, beautiful, perfect mudblood
Draining her life away
A lifetime ago.
I remember that I am no longer in love with a person
But a regret that I could not live without.
Good thing I am not living.
I close my eyes
Thinking that I will Stop
Opening
Shutting
Feeling
Hurting
Killing
Wishing
Wanting
Waiting.
Nothing changes.
I am already home.
When I open my eyes
Everyone is here.
Too them, I am a here
Even though I am not
But here we can be both dead and alive
Friends and enemies.
I am not alone this time.

LIFE
Emma Swan saw her whole existence as a game of LIFE.
It started off after high-school, and Emma didn’t even have option of choosing college. She left her foster paren’ts before she turned 17 and lived off the streets ever since, paid only for her necessities since she didn’t make the money of even a lowly salesperson, lucky bastards with their $20,000 every little green squares.
Then she met Neal and her whole life stopped, like before the marriage square. For a while she lived in a bubble of joy. Why shouldn’t she be happy? She had a loving boyfriend who wanted to move in with her and a bright future in Tallahassee, it’s all she had wanted.
Boom! She spun a ZERO on the wheel of marriage and was left with nothing but eleven years in jail and, oh, a child (Baby boy!) on the way. She gave the boy up for adoption (another zero on the wheel that existed just for her). She couldn’t take care of him, so she had to give him his best chance.
A bunch of lawsuits, taxes, lose-your-jobs and spin-to-wins later, she stumbled across Boston. It had been a tough LIFE as a bail-bondsperson, but she managed alright. That is, until her past caught up with her. Her son Henry, who was now ten, lived in a town called Storybrooke and wanted her to come home with him.
She should’ve skipped the country, but she didn’t.
Soon Henry became the ‘find-buried-treasure’ square for her. He had been a chance for her not to be alone. That was such a foreign concept, for so long Emma drove on her little yellow car alone. She was surprised when someone else jumped aboard as well, but she didn’t mind.
Henry had a strange mind; he thought that everyone in town is a fairy tale character. She half thought he was crazy sometimes. But it turned out he was right; she should’ve known. Henry was always right. Now he was in a coma and she was back to square one.
What happened after she saved him was a huge blur, like middle messy part of LIFE that no one really remembers. Suddenly everything changed, new players were added and old ones disappeared, and LIFE just got a little more complicated. She was playing with a set of rules that she didn’t even understand.
Her LIFE was crazy until she hits the tornado and had to pay a price more than $125,000. Henry was kidnapped and she’s got to save him, along with the rest of her new-found family. She was searching now, nearing the end of LIFE and just want to get over it. Get over it until Henry is home, until Henry is safe, and until everything was back in its original rules and she understand the game again. Henry was going to live, and so was she, they weren’t going to die because another player rendered them broke, they were strong.
Besides, there was still retirement to look forward to.
Mummy
“So let me get this straight … you put on an apron just to get something out of the fridge?”
Lily Potter had decided to go grocery shopping that morning, hesitantly leaving her son in the care of a band of merry idiots – or in other words: her husband and his friends. She wanted to take Harry with her, but he had been asleep then and Lily didn’t want to wake him up because she knew it’d take forever just to put him back to sleep.
James Potter rolled his eyes as he closed the fridge, placing the baby food bottles he had snagged on the counter, and lining them up. “Harry’s a messy eater, see, he always seems to like to pet my head when is hands are full of peas.”
Remus snickered quietly; he had taught Harry that.
Sirius Black entered the kitchen then, carrying Harry who was rubbing his eyes, and looking tired. At age one, Harry was looking more and more like James each day, but Harry had gotten his mum’s green eyes instead of his father’s hazel ones.
“We’re here,” said Sirius with a flourish as he strapped his godson into his highchair. “You’re lives just got better!”
“When did he wake up?”
“A couple minutes ago.” said Sirius, taking out a rolled up magazine that was in his back pocket. Flipping through it, his eyes glinted as pictures of motorbikes zoomed across the pages urging readers to ‘BUY NOW!’
“I think we lost him. No matter! I’ve a baby to feed!” James placed the baby food bottles closer to his son to inspect. “Which one do you want, Prongslet?”
Harry’s eyes scanned the small bottles and he pointed to a brown one.
Remus cringed as James wrenched the bottle open. “That’s chicken broth, Prongs. You sure you want to feed Harry blended meat?”
“I’m sure it’s not that bad.” James took a spoon from a drawer, scooping up some to his mouth. He paled instantly. “Right, Padfoot do you want some food?”
Sirius glanced up quickly at the mention of food and eagerly took the baby food away, finishing it down in two bites. “That was delicious! Do you have anymore?”
They stared silently at him as James quietly passed him a bottle labeled Cauliflower.
After James finished feeding Harry (Remus suggested peas for some reason), Harry wanted to move around. Sitting in one place for so long is not an easy feat when you’re one.
“Down, mummy, down!” urged Harry, raising his hands high and looking pointedly at his father.
The room instantly quieted.
James was horrified. “W-what did you call me, Harry?”
“Mummy!” giggled the boy, clapping his hands in delight. Sirius and Remus fell into uncontrollable laughter as James shook his head violently.
“No, no, no, no, no!” said James, running his hand through his hair. “I’m daddy, daddy – not mummy!” Lily was going to castrate him! She only left them alone for half an hour and James had already twisted Harry!
“It’s probably the apron, seeing as its Lily’s, so take it off.” James obliged, as he practically threw the cloth across the kitchen, narrowly missing the fireplace.
James picked Harry up. “Who am I, Prongslet?”
Harry screwed up his face in concentration, and for a second, James thought Harry had been pretending the whole time.
“Mummy!”
James groaned; yup, he was going to die.
The fireplace erupted, and Lily stepped through, carrying bags of grocery. “I hope I wasn’t gone too long. The line was ridiculously long.” She placed the bags on the counter, turning around and smiling brightly when she spotted her son. “Harry!”
“Daddy!”
This stroy is based of the hit eponymous T.V. show SpongeBob SquarePant about a sponge who lives underwater. Here’s a picture of SpongeBob and his friends: http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/31000000/Spongebob-Squidward-Mr-krab-Plankton-and-Patrick-WALLPAPER-spongebob-squarepants-31037928-1280-1024.jpg
Sending You Love
HONK! HONK! SpongeBob’s hand flew to his alarm clock.
“Good morning Gary!” SpongeBob greeted his pet snail.
“Meow.”
SpongeBob slipped on his pants and flew down the stairs. He yanked the door opened and dashed to the mailbox.
“Gary, Gary, Gary…EEEK! This one is for me!” He tossed the pile of Gary’s mail on the underground sea floor and ripped open the large enveloped addressed to him. He greedily reached in the envelope and pulled out a chocolate bar, attached with a note:
TO SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS
FROM PHELDON SLANKTON
Delighted with the stranger’s gift, SpongeBob ripped the wrapping of the chocolate bar and took a generous bite. Suddenly, a weird burning sensation erupted in his mouth.
“What’s up gorgeous?” he stared drunkenly at the first thing he saw, the mailbox, “Want to go out with me?”
Spongebob tugged at the mailbox, clenching his teeth. Patrick Star strolled by, “What’re you doing?”
“Trying to remove this mailbox from the ground.”
“Well, then you do it like this!” Patrick yanked the entire ground under the mailbox, yielding the mailbox alongside. “Here you are buddy!”
“Thanks”
————————–
Spongebob wore his black tailcoat and black bowler hat in the Krusty Krab. Sitting across SpongeBob at the table was the mailbox.
“So…how are you?” He cooed at the mailbox.
“SpongeBob?” Squidward laughed, seeing the odd couple. “I would tell you to get lost and not ruin my day of work without you, but this is just too funny! What would you like moron and moronette?”
“Two Krabby Patties please” SpongeBob replied, oblivious to Squidward’s comments.
Squidward chuckled away.
“Excuse me honey, I have to go relieve myself” SpongeBob strolled dreamily towards the bathroom.
SpongeBob returned, his baby blue eyes dancing around the restaurant for his beloved.
“CHARLOTTE! WHERE ARE YOU?!!” SpongeBob screamed, upon not finding her. He sobbed, blowing his nose into a customer’s Krabby Patty.
“Do you mind?” Shot the gilled customer, his eye brows furrowed.
“I have to go find her!” SpongeBob sprinted out of the Krusty Krabs’ glass doors, unsure of where to look first, when a paper airplane hit the side of his head.
SpongeBob desperately unwrinkled the note:
I HAVE HER AT THE CHUM BUCKET.
PLANKTON
“Charlotte!” Without another word, he tore into the lonely Chum Bucket. “Charlotte!” The mailbox was tied around her “waist” to a chair in the center of the room.
“You want your garbage back?” When SponeBob nodded, the tiny organism, Plankton continued, “In trade for it, GIVE ME THE KRABBY PATTY SECRET FORMULA!”
“I…I…I can’t” SpongBob sobbed, “I promised Mr.Krabs I’d never tell!”
“It’s alright, he’ll understand.” Plankton comforted, smiling maliciously.
“HEY! LET ME GO!” Plankton searched to find the source of the outburst, his eyes widened upon realizing it was the mailbox.
“YOU FILTHY CREATURE!” The opening of the mailbox was clapping up and down. Without warning, letters and parcels streamed out of the mailbox, burying Plankton.
“Charlotte!” SpongeBob gleamed, untying the rope around the mailbox.
“GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME!” Screamed the mailbox upon being released, “I’M SOLO!”
With that, the mailbox hopped away.

The Truth Hurts
Kendra ~17 years young.
Lord Nimbostratus,
was very generous to accommodate us with a plethora of frozen tears at this time of the year in the state of Virginia. I reminisced the times when I would sit and watch through the window in amusement, as they would sprinkle down from the dark after-noon sky cascading as the wind blew them from side to side until they would land softly, joining the already accumulated white blankets caressing the streets.
There were more important things to watch now, much more important things that had to be observed, the iris could only dilate so much for the curiosity the pupil withheld. I stared back at the looking glass, dim moonlight from the fine cratered crescent which hung in the sky like at the beginning of a “Dream Works” movie, entered through the creak of my window and blossomed into effulgent waves that wound up the sides, and encased the mirror, in a grip like an anaconda squeezing its prey. But there has never once been a being the color of lush moonlight, so mesmerizing that one would simply ignore their own reflection, just to gaze upon that for several hours, satisfying their eyes’ desire for beauty for every mere second it seemed to exist.
I shifted my focus to the doll like image formed from the sufficient amount of undiffused light being provided. The potential twin was being held captive behind the shield, which mimicked its opponents every move. Usually, my friend within those hidden prison bars would speak to me. It’s voice – as if angels were suddenly humming and feeding you the euphonious notes escaping from a gold-plated triangular frame formed by a hollow sound-box; divine. But today my fine, reflected friend mumbled only a few words:
“Pretty.”
That’s what everyone calls me, I’ve been brought up to believe that.
“Pretty”
like a spring flower. (who wants to be cliché?) Pretty as an angel. (Do they even exist?) Pretty like a doll. (But
“isn’t”
a doll just cheap painted plastic?) Cliché, unknown and fake, I was brought up believing everything important about me was about how
“good”
I looked. My reflection was the only thing I trusted. It was my best-friend. It was another me. Until that reflection started telling me that I wasn’t pretty
“anymore”.
This is a book I made with a character named Hansel and the story is called HANSEL WENT FISHING.
Once upon a time there was a boy named Hansel and he was going fishing. First he got his fishing gear like his fishing rod.
When he got to his fishing spot, he took his rod and threw the fishing hook in the lake.
He waited and waited and waited then suddenly, when he reeled in the hook, a castle appeared. Hansel was surprised; he never saw it like this ever. Hansel was curious so he went inside. Hansel couldn’t believe his eyes- everything was made out of jewels. There, right in front of Hansel was the king and queen. The king said, “If you give me something to eat, I’ll give you a surprise.”
“OK” replied Hansel. So he made a delicious hot dog for them. The king and queen loved it.
The king said, “Your surprise is amazing! You will be our sea prince.”
“Can I bring my family?” questions Hansel.
“Absolutely not!” declares the King.
Hansel and his family were poor but he would be the only one that was going to live with them. He wanted to live with his family even though he was poor so he said, “NO. I will not go!”
“Well then.” replied the king, “Then I’ll lock you in a cage.”
Hansel was worried when a amazing thing happened. Harry Potter and all his friends and all the characters from every movie and story came to save Hansel. Hansel was pleased. All of them defeated the king and queen, who took all his family to a rich place where they lived happily ever after.
THE END
Life of Pi 2
It’s only been a few days since I’ve landed at shore. The agents took me to a small house and told me that I need to find a job or something to live here. In the meantime they said they would let me live in the house, give me some money and my other needs for a few months so I can get used to knowing the new place.
“I accept”, I said.
The agents then left to Japan, later to come and retrieve their belonging. Well to tell you, I was extremely hungry, so I started munching on as much as food as I could. Still remembering when Richard Parker disappeared, I was determined to find a job in this place.
“But before that”, I remembered.
“I need a good night sleep”.
As I lay down on the small, yet comfy mattress, ready to have a long rest, my mind was swirling with thoughts about everything that has happened over almost a year. I dreamt about my family, the shipwreck, the animals being rescued by people on land and especially Richard Parker.
I wonder if I’ll ever see them again”, I whispered.
When I woke up in the bright and early sun, I noticed there were dried up water particles going down under my eyes. Perhaps those were tears of sadness when I was sleeping. After my morning duties and eating breakfast, my mind was fresh and I was ready to start a new life in Mexico. I decided to walk around the city and get to know the place. As I wandered on the streets, I was dreaming about building a zoo with a memorial for all the animals back home and for my family.
“Yes”, I thought.
“I’ll build an even better zoo, to continue what my father started”.
What I noticed is that many people in Mexico spoke a language called Spanish. At first I thought they spoke French but then I thought, French language had a whole different system.
“Excuse me?”, I asked a person.
“Do you know where I can find the closest place for a job?”
The man looked confused and took a while to say something.
“Lo sentimos, no hablo su idioma.” (Sorry, do not speak your language).
I didn’t know what he said, so I kept walking like nothing happened. I found it very difficult to speak with people that talk a foreign language. Nobody understood me and I couldn’t understand them. Almost half an hour past and I was losing hope. I realized that I was in the city of Manzanillo.
“Do you need help?” a girly voice from behind me asked.
I turned around, took a quick look and froze.

—————–
Just do it, the voice hissed.
“I can’t”…my arms felt limp and the horror bubbling inside of me filled the empty void that urged me to pick up the metal weapon.
Isn’t this what you’ve wanted?
“But…”
They laughed at you. They mocked you. They made you worthless. She was one of them. Are you starting to like that feeling now, Kristina?
“I know but what if…”
You’re in no position to stop.
I stared at the body which lay sprawled on the rough concrete floor. The eyes stared at me in shock. The eyes which once looked down at me in pity now looked towards me in fear with tears cascading down her pale face smearing the coal coloured mascara. Her breathing got heavier; I could see a lot of it as it turned to mist in the winter air. She couldn’t speak. Tape is such an amazing creation. So instead she shook her head rapidly, urging me not to do it.I didn’t have much of a choice.
Don’t prove that you’re what they call you, Kristina.
Bree was right. Death is a genius threat which can make anyone a pawn on your chessboard. And right now I was the king on that chessboard. The power was mine, and mine only. I was never weak. And now I was going to prove it. The fear got replaced with anger. It started from my heart and with every beat it worked its way through my veins bringing strength to every pore of my body which received this blood. The arms which felt limp, now caressed the handle of the gun confidently. I was angle and the trigger was curve. Together we were geometric figure and this situation was about to make perfect sense.
“I wonder how your beautiful eyes look charred,” I stated as I took the tape off her mouth.
“You’re a monster”, she whispered.
“No you’re the monster!” I screamed as I pulled the trigger. The sound of the gun going off rippled through my ears as if I was standing next to a fireworks display, except for the fact that I was the only one who could admire the beauty. The echo of the bang stayed for a few seconds, and I took in her appearance and decided to let my anger out completely.
Awe it hurts? Well I had to deal with this for the past 10 years of my life, except for the fact that for me there was no end. I laughed wickedly, I lost more blood throughout my life and here she was crying just for losing that teeny amount. Let’s even it out now shall we? I shot at her stomach again, and saw the air escape out of her mouth turn into a moan. Beautiful. That was the word to describe this song. Let’s hear it again. I shot again at her stomach and heard more screams hover towards my ears.
I walked up to her body now. Her eyes flickered and she hesitated to breathe. I noticed the drink of the reaper trailing down her mouth and stomach to form a puddle in the soil making it look like the colour of wine. Then I focused my eyes on hers, they didn’t blink no more and tried to close but somehow couldn’t. I didn’t get any sleep, and neither should she. So, I let her eyes stay open, and walked out of the forest. Her corpse would be of some use to the critters in the woods. As I walked off, only one word seemed to echo in my mind: “Dead”. I smiled. Pity, I won’t hear that song again.
Hi,
first of all I apologize for exceeding 500 words, it was originally longer and I tried to eliminate as much as possible. If it isn’t any much of a hassle, I recommend you view this entry on the link I tagged as it shows the proper formatting with the italics and paragraph indents. Thank-you for taking the time to check-out this entry. I appreciate it.

Myrtle fled down the narrow hall, aware of the tears threatening to disrupt her composure; squeezing out from the inner recesses of her eyes. Not yet she chastised herself. Not yet.
In a flurry of motion the upset teen barrelled into the second floor bathroom, her breath hiccupping out of her compressed lungs as tears made a pitiful, vigilant track down her face; marring her sense of serenity. She shouldered her way into the end stall, and hastily threw the door shut behind her; collapsing in an array of untidy limbs atop the partially polished tiling. She drew herself into a ball, drawing her knees to her chest, and wedging her head down so that it was nestled between.
Only then did she allow herself to dwell on the crude, snide comments that had ruined what could have been a pleasant day.
Those glasses, Myrtle. They make you look hideous!
They’re too big for your face.
Hah! They make you look like an owl!
Fat Myrtle
Ugly Myrtle
Miserable moaning moping Myrtle
“You just wait Olive Hornby!” she snapped at the vacant stall wall. “One day you’ll be sorry!”
Moments later, the bathroom door squeaked open. It always had the tendency of squeaking, thus alerting her that someone had entered.
She held absolutely still as an odd hissing sound encroached upon the previously hushed environment.
What the-?
Although the noise which had parted from the strange being was foreign to her ears, the tenor in which it had been spoken was unmistakably male.
A deep rumbling sound filled every inner corner of the bathroom which was followed instantaneously by a muted slithering sound, and another hiss.
In her stall-her safe sanctuary-Myrtle started with surprise, having recognized the unfamiliar noise as sounds produced from the mouth of a snake. A serpent.
Sniffling, she mustered up what little dignity she had left and thrust open the stall door; white-knuckled hands curled around the frame of the dingy door.
“GET OUT! This is the girl’s bathroom-“ she broke off as the intruder swiveled to face her.
She was struck with the familiarity of his face.
His lips parted, yet no discernible utterances parted from the shape of his mouth. Instead she heard the crafty, infiltrating sounds of a snake. She couldn’t make sense of them. Her heart clenched in her chest; pulse fast and hot.
Abruptly she became aware of a large hulking shape which suddenly swarmed forward; thrusting its head forward lightly. It was the distinctive form of a snake.
Her resulting scream became lodged somewhere within the base of her throat.
She remembered this: Its yellow eyes
And then she was falling through time and space
Heart seizing
Pulse stuttering
Falling
Drifting
Then darkness
Only darkness.

Title: May the Odds Ever Be In Your Favour
—————
I stared out of my rusty window and glanced at the colourful autumn leaves showering down from a thin tree branch while getting blown east to join the many others on the dew covered grass. I was so lost in though that Prim had to shake my shoulder a good several times to snap me back to reality. Prim was my little sister and today was one of the few days where we were dressed our best. Other than her blue dress which used to be mine from my first reaping, she wore a frown. She hugged me while tearing up, “Katniss everything is going to be okay, right?” I kissed her forehead and replied, “Prim I doubt you’re going to get picked; there are thousands of ballots in that bowl.” She calmed down and asked another question, “what about you?” I faked a smile and nodded while wiping away her tears. It was the 74th Annual Hunger Games and my name had been entered 42 times this year compared to Prim’s one ballot.
My mother approached me a few minutes later with a small circular object in her hand and pinned it to my dress. It was a mocking jay pin – a bird of both peace and hope. My mother was a weak woman both emotionally and physically, which after my father’s death did nothing to support our family. I had to hunt and do all the trading to keep us going. Before I left, I told my mother that she better be strong and if anything happened to me that she’ll be there for Prim.
After a few security checks, announcements, and a video of why the Hunger Games existed, we were yet again reminded of how powerless our 12 districts are compared to the government. Now we just waited patiently for Effie Trinket – a woman bearing a cheerful smile and voice with her funny pink hair to pull out the name of one male and female tribute. She stated, “ladies first,” as she picked one slip out from the bowl. There was complete silence except for the sound of my heart beating. Then as Effie was about to say the name, a powerful voiced boomed, “Avada Kedavra!” Everyone watched in horror as a colourful beam of red light launched itself at her, and before we knew it Effie lay sprawled on the ground dead. Many guards began to fire their weapons at the mysterious man but it was of no use as he mumbled some more gibberish and destroyed them with a quick flick of his irregular shaped stick. The sallow skinned man with the crooked nose, greasy shoulder length hair, and black cape sneered, “pathetic muggle weapons,” as he walked off and disappeared leaving the rest of us stunned. After a few minutes of just standing there in utter shock, the crowd erupted with cheers. For the first time in a few weeks, I smiled. I guess the odds really were in our favour after all. A Mockingjay sang to us from a distance.
Fan Fiction: Brett (Lady Ashley) from Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises
Situation: Brett’s life after the Novel

Brett and The World of Wives
It was early in the morning, the shops were just opening; the smell of fresh bread, warming alcohol and the first cigarettes of the day filled the streets as the sun beamed down on the half empty bottles that lined the streets. Paris in the morning always looked like the remnants of a fabulous party. The nightlife seemed to seep into the morning hours; reminding you of the fabulous time everyone had the night before.
Brett hadn’t been a part of this nightlife for a few years. It was a choice she made while away with some old friends, the choice to come back to Mike. She knew that she had to leave it all behind, the copious amounts of alcohol, the empty existence, the frivolous spending and of course, Jake. She convinced herself that she didn’t miss the old days; late, drunken nights amongst strange and familiar men, had made her numb, unsure and unaware of other possibilities.
“Have a good day Brett.”
“You too dear, I’ll see you after work.”
“Yes, and where do you want to eat tonight? I was thinking we could …”
“We have plans Mike! She only asked us last night.”
Claire’s less than formal invite still rung in her head, “Oh you must join us, it’s going to be … how do you American’s say it, grand!” It had only taken her four years, but she had finally become a part of this crowd; the fresh flower centerpieces and dinner party crowd; the world of wives.
“Oh no, I was only kiddin’ you Bretty, I’ll be ready”
“Yes you will Mike, dinner’s at 7:30 sharp! We can’t be late for these things anymore I’m getting …”
“I know, embarrassed. It will be fine. See you tonight.”
Handing Mike his coffee and brief case, Brett hurried out the door after him making her way through the bottle-lined streets to the flower shop on Montparnasse. There were many other flower shops around, but Brett loved making excuses to pass by the old spots. As if walking by the cafés would bring her back in time.
“Bonjour Marie! Oh Merci. They’re perfect.”
“Not a problem. I hope they are to your hostesses’ liking this time Mme Cambelle.”
“Yes, there’s just enough colour to make a statement, but not so much that she’ll shun them to the kitchen again.”
On her way back through the now cleared streets of Montparnasse she thought she spotted an old familiar face sitting on the patio of Café Select. From a distance it looked just like him, even his posture was the same, leaning into and resting his forearm on the chair back. After a passing thought she dismissed the idea and looked across the street to take in the day and get him off of her mind. Then, she heard it, his voice breaking through her daydream and forcing her back. “Brett, it is you,” he yelled lifting himself up out of the warm bistro chair to greet her.
This is really amazing! Wow!

Free as the ~wind~ she dances
The ==path== not a {thought}
The folk not a care
Swathed in a Royal blue gown and glinting bronze ArMOUR
She is a STRONG and gentle breeze
With her c.o.n.s.t.a.n.t & ever-changing L-o-v-e
But do the people see her?
Maybe
Maybe not
Or it may all be for naught
For she is all ~windswept~ flax knots
And mO_Onlit eyes as bright as her name
She is there, no less hard to notice
Mid the crowds of non-believers and skeptics
A guiding light in the rising Dark
Swathed in a Royal blue gown and glinting bronze ArMOUR
She moves ~~~~~ tides ~~~~~ everyday
And though she appears the size of a skipping stone
She is a STRONG and gentle breeze
A beacon in the oncoming storm

Summary: The marriage of Draco and Astoria Malfoy.
Porcelain In Retrospect
You batter your pale fists to feel something.
And feel something you do.
But it is her porcelain skin chipping beneath the weight of your failings, your cowardice, your caste, not the solace you desire.
She trembles, just as your fists do. The shaking of her hands held above her head, aftershocks of an earthquake that devastated her peaceful domain.
Those hands, held above her head to keep away your pale fists.
She begs you to stop.
You don’t.
Seasons come and go, and she weeps feathers for tears, shed from a dying bird. Her spirit is fragile, the visage of the ideal wife cracked and crumbling.
You’re haunted by her eyes these days, all dull and bleak. The rings of your marriage have turned black now. They’ve latched around her eyes, drawing her face gaunt with implicit words.
You wonder if your inner demons have somehow possessed her, for those eyes… they’re not natural.
And this makes you frantic.
So you batter your pale fists to feel something.
Why? she cries.
To expel the demons from those eyes.
But you pause, because something’s different about her this time.
Her hands aren’t held above her.
Her eyes are enough in their place, and though they tremble defiantly, they aren’t in the shadows of your failings, your cowardice, your caste.
It takes a moment to discern the reason behind the changes through your distraught haze.
It’s a boy, trembling behind her porcelain skin.
Your son.
How could you do this to him, a mere child?
How could you do this to her?
You beg for forgiveness, knowing from the depths of your being that you aren’t worthy of it. You’re not worthy of this fragile creature you broke beneath pale fists.
The last piece of porcelain has been crushed.
She leaves you, taking child and dignity with.
And all you have left are two black rings, drawing your face gaunt with implicit words.
Best of luck everyone! 😀
To Kakashi, From Obito
Crushed
Dying
Scars don’t heal.
I watch you cry
Like rust on steel.
You say you regret it-
I’m not sure you can.
But however much I hate you, you are a broken man.
What would people say?
If they knew
That the great Sharingan Kakashi spends his time at a tomb
Talking to names
Carved in stone.
I almost feel bad
That you’re all alone.
Then I remember she died on a battlefield; cold.
You broke your promise,
It was all I asked
My final request
Couldn’t you have done just this?
Sensei is gone;
So I blame you.
You are scum.
Now I start a war
Because you let her die.
I will recreate you both
In another life, free from strife.
But until then
You
Will
Suffer.
Hermione Granger 1988 – 2013
The true significance of a person in your life can only be measured at the time of their death.
Her tender locks swayed ever so subtly in the disrupting wind, newly emphasized by the stillness of her body. Harry didn’t think he had seen her this motionless in his life. His heart ached at the resurfacing distant memories of his witty best friend; always flowing with energy and hosting a heart-warming smile.
Absently, he reached for her pale hand. So lifeless and frail. “How did you end up in a coffin?” He wanted to voice his thought.
The few sobs of formality sounding around him were desecrating. “What do these people know?” He cursed at them for snatching his private moment with what remained of her.
In life, not a single one of them had knocked on her front door. Even when she had been wasting away in solitude, her silent cries of plea unheard. Why were they swarming around her like pests in her death? What more was there to take away?
His hand almost yearned to swat them away for stealing her air. Not that it mattered. She wasn’t breathing.
He squeezed her hand. Who was this silent woman minutes away from being enclosed and forgotten under a mass of dirt?
A scholar; who had alone researched the depths of knowledge itself and generously informed the rest of the world. A dedicated global citizen devoted to justice. A misunderstood intelligence that tolerated a world of ignorance. Her private tears forever masked under rain. That was her identity to the world.
To him? She had been the definition of his childhood. A sister his mother had refused to bear. He shared with her and only her a bond more pure than the single rhythm of two beating hearts of pregnant mother and child.
And here that bond lay. Trapped in a coffin, and to be shoved into the earth as plastic tears fell from indifferent acquaintances she had the misfortune of meeting in her short life.
Harry’s own eyes were incapable of crying. Honestly, he had felt no emotion since he answered the phonecall. “Your best friend took an overdose of sleeping pills . . . most likely a suicide.”
Was this her way of taking revenge? Was she punishing him for his refusal to help her? No criminal in the world deserved a punishment so morbid.
“Why didn’t you help her?” He asked himself with seething anger. Had walking up the three steps to her front door been such an exhausting task?
It was the rumours that kept him away.
“Did you hear?”
“About Potter and Granger? Oh yes! The nerve of that woman!”
“Her poor husband Weasley. No wonder she didn’t take his last name after marriage.”
“She must have been planning this since her wedding.”
Why had they said such horrible things? “What do these people know?” He thought again in a dry rage long lost of fuel.
It was he who let their words stop him from making the short trip to her front door. He who neglected making the phone calls that would’ve saved her life.
He was a coward that had let society eat away at his friend when he could’ve saved her. He had chosen his worthless reputation over an irreplaceable friend. He could’ve brightened her fading light. He watched her light flutter and die out instead.
What had he been so afraid of? What could possibly be worse than this permanent separation? This severed bond?
“What did I know?” He questioned himself, in dazed realization.
He dropped the pale hand he no longer deserved to hold, and watched with an unexplainable feeling so unbearable and bitter – one that only a traitor can know – as the lid of the coffin forever enclosed his best friend.
A Pokémon Fan Fiction
The Unexpected Guest
“Ooh I am so excited to visit Palet Town! Does my hair look okay? Are all your friends are coming?” Dawn asked as she skipped ahead of Ash.
“Calm down,” Ash laughs. “You look good as usual and yup they’re all coming. It’s a reunion. You’ll meet Gary, Misty, Brock, May, everyone!”
“Are any Pokémon coming?” Dawn asks as she stopped to wait for Ash to catch up.
“Of course, Pokémon are my friends too,” Ash says while stroking a sleeping Pikachu. “But not all of them are gonna be there. Some of them are on their own separate paths.”
“Really? Which ones?”
“Butterfree, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charizard, and a couple more.”
“Which would you consider your most true friend?”
“Other than Pikachu, I’d have to say Charizard. We’ve been together for a long time and had a lot of awesome times.”
“Sounds interesting,” Dawn chimes. “Tell me how you first met Charmander!”
Ash looks up at the sky. “I remember it like it was yesterday. Brock, Misty and I met Charmander sitting on a tree stump. Charmander was waiting there and wouldn’t leave its spot because it believed its trainer would come back for it.”
“What a jerk!” Dawn exclaims.
Ash looks at Dawn in the eyes as he continues. “One day it was raining, my friends and I were worried that being a fire type exposed to the storm outside was dangerous. It was a good thing we came in time too,” Ash explains. “Poor Charmander had only a leaf to protect the flame of its tail and was being attacked by a flock of Spearow. We rushed Charmander to the Pokemon center immediately.”
Dawn breathed a sigh of relief. “So Charmander was revived back to health right?”
“Yup, but as soon as it got better, Charmander went back to where it was abandoned. Then suddenly, its original owner came by and saw Charmander had learned a powerful move. The owner wanted him back but Charmander wouldn’t return to such a selfish trainer. And that’s how he joined our group.”
“Aw what a great story,” Dawn says. “Tell me more adventures you’ve had with it!”
“Oh man, there are too many awesome gym battles where I used Charizard to recall,” Ash paused for a moment. “Oh! I remember when Charizard battled and defeated Articuno. That was amazing.”
Dawn gasps. “Articuno? The legendary Pokémon? That’s incredible! I hope someday, Piplup and I will have lots of adventures to strengthen our friendship too.”
“Don’t worry you guys will,” Ash smiles as he looks at his house. “Here we are!”
Ash’s mom opens the door. “You guys are the last ones to arrive! Come in!”
Ash hugs her. “Mom! It’s so good to you again.” Ash sees all his friends gathered in his house. “Everyone! I’m so glad to see you all!”
All his friends come rushing up to him with big smiles as they talk about old times.
Professor Oak comes up to Ash and hands him a Pokéball. “Someone wants to see you.”
Ash with a confused look throws the Pokéball and a Pokémon appears. “Charizard!”
Charizard gave Ash the usual Flamethrower greeting.
Ash hugs Charizard. “This is awesome! What would make it even better now would be to have a few battles!”
Everyone laughs as they see that Ash hadn’t changed.
BACK TO SQUARE ONE
“Where is it, man when I desperately need those papers they are nowhere to be found ughhh”
As if my life wasn’t bad enough this problem had to start again. I thought they would forget, but here they are like a hungry pack of wolves still looking for me their prey!!
But they aren’t to blame it was me, me who joined them for money, not even thinking once about what I was getting myself into!!! By the age of 14 they had turned me into a professional hustler of drugs. I did all the things I never thought I would do, stole, fought(not just messing around, with weapons and stuff), ran away from home, sold drugs, murdered, and at the end i made my away to the prison cell. But that wasn’t it; the worst thing I did was snitched, revealed each one of them. This gave them a reason to kill me, track me down, beat every breath out of me but it was me, I was the one to give them that reason.
For the first time i missed jail, at least i was safe in there, on the day of my parole I cried so hard, hugged every officer and cursed myself for even existing!! If i wasn’t even born, i wouldn’t have to experience death!
And for the papers yeah that, the one i was looking for, that horrible thing was the list of the customers our dealers served, what kind of drugs we served and every, little tiniest detail about the whole gang thing we run, or i once ran!! After i hand this over to the police, i will just disappear from this place, from United States ABRACADABRA and I’ll disappear in thin air!! How i wished that would be true!! It would be on the first page of the newspaper: Disappearance of “Tyrone Kingston” The big dealer!
But let’s get this clear i ain’t giving these papers to those wacky officers for nothing, a good dealer always follows the give and take policy. As much as i hate to say it, my inner dealer won’t ever rub off of me, it was in my blood my whole family was like this!!
“Holla the papers yesssss omg” ! If i had lost this thing it would cost me my life, being executed wasn’t that fun, i wouldn’t like to imagine how it the lethal injection feels when it enters your body ughhh. It gives me the shivers. Anyway the officer gave me an offer, spill everything and you can be released!!!
As i was heading to the police station and day dreaming about getting this stuff done once and for all, i felt a tap on my shoulder.
I turned around ready to curse whoever stopped me from being free and BAM i was wacked hard on the face. The face of my old buddy frightened me, they found me, my gang found me, this mean I’m back to square one and soon there going to make me go up if you get what i mean.
The gun ready to pierce through me and all i said was “oh well serves me right”.

An hour ago I wanted to make Honey Boo Boo/Hunger Games fanfiction so I did and here it is. I’m so sorry.
TOIL OF BEES AND GHOSTS MAKE YOU BEAUTIMOUS
You don’t remember much about being chosen, except the usual Georgia smells – animal carcasses cooking on roads; stink of booze on the men’s breaths; girls in dresses stitched from shirts found in dumpsters.
You do not cry when they call your name. You blow kisses to the hooting crowd.
–
You’re used to competing with rich district kids. They show up to interviews in flashy clothes made by folks with names. You reckon they don’t fart or burp either.
These are the kids who’d get first place in pageants and laugh at you on TV, you tell yourself. These aren’t the kids who choke gators and chug moonshine like water.
You look around and you beam. You are a southern girl raised on rough times and baby oiled waterslides.
Compared to beauty pageants, this’ll be easy.
–
They squeeze you in a parody of a dress, all plaid and fake rhinestones. They try to make it fit looser, but you tell them you want to bulge. You and your body will burst at the seams of whatever they wrap you in, and you want viewers to know that.
–
You pick off rhinestones like scabs during the interview.
The audience roars. Ryan Seacrest shows you his teeth. You think it’s a smile, but his eyes stare at you like you just birthed a six-fingered baby.
–
“Do you think you stand a chance?”
“I’mma win this for sure,” you drawl. “Haters better redneckonize.”
You whoop and scratch your ass for good measure.
Your mama will be proud and your sponsors are too.
–
First kill ain’t easy.
“I take shits bigger than you,” he says, knife shaking in his grip.
You don’t reply. He looks like he wants to cry.
–
Afterwards, you cry for him.
–
Sponsors send you dripping parcels of butter and ketchup and pasta. Your mama calls it sketti and made it every time the cameras were on at home. You want to scream. Other kids got sandwiches and soup, but viewers don’t want to fuel you properly, not really.
It ain’t fair, you think as you gulp it down with a Seacrest smile on your face.
–
When the sketti runs out, you hunt.
–
The bird keeps squawking. Its neck is soft. You squelch it between wobbly fingers.
Later, you spit out feathers and bones.
–
It’s been a week and you’re going to win.
The last tribute is stupid. He squats near the river, fishing every morning. You figure tumping him over will be easier than knocking his teeth in with the axe you looted off your seventh kill.
Too bad he hears you trudging. You cuss yourself up when his head turns.
“Honey Boo Boo? Holy shit.” He nearly doubles over with laughter. “Hillbilly bitch thi-“
His head cracks open easily under your axe.
You grin at the sky and wave to your captors and viewers and mama. Mostly you wave to the little girls wearing dumpster dresses and thrifted plastic tiaras.

Wow! These fanfictions are so awesome!!! 🙂 I wish I could’ve joined but it’s already over.
Aww thank you so much! That means a lot, really. Tips? I’m definitely not good enough to be giving anyone else tips but one thing I do when writing is dig deep down into the emotions of the characters. That way, I connect to them and feel like I’m writing about something I know well about and relate to. That definitely makes writing easier! 😛 Don’t know if that helped! I love your name by the way! 😀
