This is our latest attempt at a sweet treat and sweet it is!

Sometimes having a heavy lunch can bring on the sleepies during your afternoon classes which might be a bit of a problem. A salad may be the solution. Now, some might say that a salad is not filling enough but a salad is the one thing that you can add stuff to so that you get a full meal. First and best of all is that you can make a salad with any vegetables or fruits that you like.

To make a salad more wholesome you can add grilled chicken, boiled eggs, beans, cheese, tuna or salmon, etc. Avocadoes are great in salads, too. The dressing you choose can dictate the flavour of your salad so make sure it's something you like or make your own. If you are using dressing, be sure to pack it separately and only add it to your salad when you're ready to eat because soggy, soppy salad does not make a great lunch. That also goes for tomatoes.

My favourite salad is Greek, what's yours?

Do you have any salad stories to share? We'd like to hear them.

  1. My first salad I added the dressing as I prepared it and packed it for school. By the time lunch came around I was so excited until I opened the container…it was a horrible mess. I guess sometimes you have to learn things the hard way.

  2. I don’t really like vegetable salads because I don’t enjoy the raw and tingly taste. But I do love fruit salads and half cooked salads with beans and tuna.

  3. I find it that I become sleepy and lazy after having a meal. I will definitely try having salad for lunch, it might just work. My favorite salads, well I don’t know their names but I just love experimenting so if it worked once, I will try it again. Plus never make too much salad. Even if you put it in the fridge, trust me it’s discussing. So just make the amount you can finish.
