Yarn Bombing in Pittsburgh
We've posted a story or two about knitting and yarn bombing over the summer. Check out this amazing project that went down in Pittsbugh earlier this year. A pack of some of the baddest knitters I've ever seen got together and yarn bombed a whole giant bridge! The results are pretty cool- check it out!

WOW. This is soooo amazing!!! I would love for something like this to happen in Toronto. We have plenty of bridges to decorate.
OMG! That is unbelievably talented! I would love to see that in person.
How much time and money was put in this project? Was it necessary? Think of all the scarves for the needy that could have been knitted instead! Or does this project have a noble cause? Am I missing something?
Well, it is pretty cool, but then at the same time I see your point 🙂
However, this might be a bit more eco-friendly? I mean, paint is toxic right, and one could always re-use these squares as, like you said, a blanket for the needy. Give it a wash and dry it in the sun and it’ll be like brand new! If I were a person in need of a scarf, I’d be grateful to have one, new or not.
This project is quite lovely, I’d love to meet someone who made this in person and have their autograph!!!
I see…thanks! 🙂
I read the magazine article. After the installation is taken down, they will be washing the knitting and donating it to a shelter. So it’s all good!!
This is so cool, I would love for something like this to happen in Toronto!!! It would so much fun just helping them decorate it.
It just takes a great, creative person to organize it!
I bet there are a whole bunch of creative people in Toronto, and like they say “If there’s a will there’s a way.”
You could try organizing it 🙂
That’s awesome! That must take a lot of determination, effort and willpower to do all this work! 🙂
Wow…im really amazed and confused by this at the same time
