  1. This seems similar to the Hunger Games trilogy as well as Divergent. The plot just seems similar to me, but is is nice to see a heroine for a change instead of the usual male hero of stories. Female protagonist don’t usually have a warrior status, so this empowerment pushes society to adapt to that and put down sexism.

  2. I’d say it is similar, and has some of the same elements. Dystopian future setting, fighting for your life against larger forces and ideologies, kick-ass heroine, prolonged story arc over three books… You’re absolutely right that it fits the same model, and it totally works. Such a good read, and Saba is an awesome female warrior who takes no prisoners in the first two books, and starts to get in touch with other means of bringing down the system in the last book without really losing her edge.
