She Is Not Invisible
16-year-old Laureth Peak has a problem. Her father is a writer who has been trying, and failing, to write a novel about coincidence for years. Her mother thinks he’s obsessed, and Laureth thinks he’s on the verge of a mental breakdown. He’s supposed to be doing work in Austria, but when his notebook is found in New York, Laureth knows that something is wrong. On an impulse, she steals her mother’s credit card, and with her younger brother Benjamin, takes a flight across the Atlantic to the States. Once they’re reunited with the notebook, they try follow the clues inside as they attempt to find their missing father. They must face many challenges and threats over the course of their journey, all of which are even more difficult for Laureth. That’s because Laureth Peak is blind.
