  1. My favorite fictional villain is Lady Macbeth. Although Macbeth is extremely old, the character of Lady Macbeth will never die (although she technically does meet her death in the play). Lady Macbeth is a villain who on the cover is manipulative, and uses Macbeth to her disposal – however by analyzing her you can see her fear, and uncertainty in everything she does. Lady Macbeth’s character is full of layers – she isn’t a stereotypical villain who kills for the joy of it!

  2. Sephiroth is my favourite villain because he looks cool, has a sad back story that leads him to insanity, doesn’t do stereotypical villain things like scream before attacking, almost always carries a calm composure and became the fallen hero. His theme “One Winged Angel” is also cool.

  3. Joker is my favorite fictional villain. Although Joker dies in Batman Arkham city, Joker has really made a impact on Batman and his crew. Joker also looks like a legitimate villain in the Batman series.Joker is a villain who has the potential to become the best fictional villain.

  4. My favourite villain so far has to be Eric from Divergent by Veronica Roth. Eric is a classic villain in a future-based setting. Nowadays, you get villains who are villains because of something that happened in the past; some traumatic event turned them into the evil person they are. Eris is a villain with an ultimate goal. Nothing happened to him to make him evil, he just is. He is the type of villain that I like the most.

  5. The most fabulous villain of all time is The Lone Power in the Young Wizards series by Diane Duane. It crated Death in the universe, it can never be defeated and it looks so fair, yet is so foul. Can one be more fantastically evil?!

  6. My favourite fictional villain is Holden Caulfield’s negative doppelganger. This book is presented in a totally different point-of-view, and this perspective of witnessing a narrative opened me up to a whole different way of understanding a tale. It’s a highly negative view of things, but the reader consoles themself knowing that Holden is still an angsty teen!

  7. Ra’s Al Ghul is easily one of the most unique villains ever crafted. He tears down societies to have them rebuilt in a more ideal fashion, bent on crafting his version of a utopia. He takes a desire that all of us have and warps it, being a character we love to hate.

  8. I love the evil Queen from Snow White! She’s just awesome. Even though when I was a kid, I hate her lol, but as a grew up, I find her cool. The classic red apple that she gives snow white as her secret weapon. I never get bored of that!
Even many movies and TV series has adapt Snow White story, with the awesome evil Queen. For me, Evil Queen is the classic villain that you’ll never get bored of it 🙂

  9. My favourite fictional villain is Voldemort from the Harry Potter series. His cool and aloof personality– on top of his intelligence– makes him a perfect villain. He is also very powerful as a wizard, which makes him even more enviable.

  10. In the book “Alex and the Ironic Gentlemen”, my favorite villains are the “Daughters of the Founding Fathers’ Preservation Society”. I love the group of old evil women because they seem so realistic, and very much remind me of what I used to feel like when I stepped into a historic museum.

  11. Loki is my favorite villain – he’s a member of the Frost Giants and he has many powers: healing factor, inter-dimensional teleportation, illusion casting and astral projection. If you’ve watched the movie ‘Thor’ you’ll his dashing good looks (:D) and his child-like personality. He had redemption in the end 🙂

  12. Lord Voldemort is the epitome of fictional villains. He is a consistent character who’s evil demure never falters. Voldemort’s character represents the many evils in our world and proves that without love there is only hate. Lord Voldemort’s power hungry ways create the page-turner we know and love: Harry Potter.

  13. My favourite fictional is President Snow from The Hunger Games. He’s my favourite villain because I feel that his actions are really painted using the motivations, but also the consequences they cause.

  14. I would say that Portia from The Last Princess would be my favourite fictional villan. She is portrayed as the biggest-or better yet-the ultimate evil leader in charge of the girls’ camp. She brutally, and very descriptively, harms the last princess-Eliza. Her acts make the hair on your arms stand up!

  15. In the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Davy Jones is by far the most iconic character (After Jack Sparrow, of course :P). Davy Jones really leaves a lasting impression in Dead Man’s Chest. He carves out his own heart after being betrayed by his lover, Calypso. Davy Jones pretty much became the “Grim Reaper” of the seas. He turned his ship, the Flying Dutchman, and his crew into fish monsters. He also kidnapped sailors into his crew for a hundred years of servitude. All those who defied Davy Jones were killed by his pet, the Kraken. Overall, Davy Jones is a fantastic villain, but a tragic one at heart. He knows how far he has fallen and cannot seek salvation.

  16. Big Brother from George Orwell’s “1984” is a terrifying villain. The scariest part about him is that he probably doesn’t exist. Big Brother is a thought, and in a world where the government controls the very act of thinking, his constant presence shows just how vulnerable our minds are.

  17. My favourite fictional villain is Amir from The Kite Runner. When Amir realizes he cannot remain friends with his BFF, he concocts a plan which accuses him of theft, hoping that his father would punish his loathed friend. This villainous deed makes me despise Amir, my favourite innocent fictional villain.

  18. I would say Voldemort or the Volturi, but those villains seem overrated. Instead, I’ll go with Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. Even though it’s technically not a book, she appears in books like the Kingdom Keepers, and games like Kingdom Hearts. (Of course, she leads all the Disney villains in all of them). 🙂 Which is AWESOME. Seeing her in books makes me so excited, like I’m 10 again 🙂

  19. Quentin Makepeace from the Bartimaeus Trilogy. This guy is so very helpful and useful, and nice! He couldn’t possibly be bad. BANG KABOOM he’s the most despicable and vile little man you ever did see. He passed under-the-radar beautifully, I actually gasped to discover his true nature.

  20. My favorite villain would be Gollum from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He has a good side and a bad side to him. He is not pure evil, even though it is the bad side that takes over him.

  25. My favorite villain of all times would be the extremely evil Count Olaf from the series of unfortunate events (remember that awesome 13 novels?:)) Although he truly is a horrible, evil criminal/villain, his multiple attempts to steal the Baudelaire children’s fortune away has brought me to laughs, screams, and tears. Without him, I do not think my reading experience as a child would have been as entertaining. I loved the fact that he always devise what seems to be an incredibly flawless plan, but only to be outsmarted by the three children in the end. Of course, i can never forget the description of his appearance; a unbroken, wheezy voice, tall nose, and gleaming eyes, LOL what a typical villain! You will be remembered count Olaf!

  26. My favourite villainous character of all time is probably the evil witch from the classic– Snow White. As juvenile as it may sound, I deeply feel that she symbolizes the result of deep hatred and jealously, which are both sins. I feel that she led herself to her own demise by conducting the evil act of poisoning Snow White with her apple, just so she can be the “fairest” of all. However, this act is done with the witch arrogantly ignoring the fact that she ruined her own physical beauty by planning for this, turning from the young, beautiful, yet evil woman she was, into an ugly, veil, and old thing. She also did not understand the fact that true beauty is not defined by physical features, but by the personalities of the person themselves. I feel that she demonstrated how jealousy and hatred within people will blind them, enough so that even if their physical body changes, they still don’t realize it and only seek meaningless revenge from their circumstances. This is what I would like to call true irony.

  27. My favourite villain would defiantly have to be Luke Castellan from the Percy Jackson series. Unlike other villains, Luke is just like the main protagonist. The main reason he is bad is because he feels ignored by his father. This is normal enough to make anyone go crazy. The best part? He realizes his mistake at the end. Now that’s a real villainous hero.

  28. The worst villain which comes to mind is Robin Hood. He pretended to be a “heroic” outlaw who steals from the poor, giving to the rich. I think that is pretty villainous for a man who proclaims himself to be heroic.

  29. My most favourite fictional villian is Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter. Voldemort msrely feeds on the hate and evil of a person. He is the thing that humans dread to meet and becomes the World worst nightmare. In a way you could say he is looking for acceptance and finds this through fear and power. These are the reason of why I think he is the best and favourite villian.

  33. My favourite villain is Tyrion Lannister (Game of Thrones) because even though he’s vertically challenged, he doesn’t let that stop him, but uses it as incentive for him to do better instead. He’s probably the most genius and intelligent villain I’ve ever read about.

  34. My favourite villain would probably have to be Sauron from Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. He’s such a powerful character. His true physical form is never exposed. All that you know of him is his eye that watches over everything. He did so much to Middle Earth and had such a negative impact killing thousands.

  36. Voldemort makes the Harry Potter books good as they are. He’s the ultimate antagonist, you hate him with your heart. Voldemort was so evil it made sense that Harry risked much to hunt him down. Three cheers to Voldemort for being evil so we could hate him and love Harry.

  37. Definitely all the Capitol residents from the Hunger Games. All Capitol residents know they are more significant than anyone else from the other Districts, yet they do nothing to help the District people, or can’t and don’t do anything about it. Watching the Hunger Games annually for them is just pure entertainment.

  38. My favourite villain is Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter because of how good she is at being a terrible person. Her character is so real and represents some aspect of someone we all know in real life. What makes it worst is that we don’t know why she’s like that.

I get Goosebumps just thinking about it! He knows he has an incredible amount of power and he is not afraid to use it(ex: the hunger games).

  42. my favourite villain is the Hunger Games: CATO.
He is so devious and cunning, and it’s very hard to get past him.
He is huge, strong, brutal male tribute from District 2 is Katniss Everdeen’s main enemy in the 74th Hunger Games. He is probably seen as the most dangerous threat to all the tributes out of all the other Careers. Obscene, vulgar, and relentless, Cato uses brute strength for almost everything and fights hard to win. And he is one of the last tribute to die in the 74th Hunger Games,so he is obviously good at fighting.
