How GREEN are you?
In light of the Green Your Home, Green Your Neighbourhood program happening this month at the York Woods Library, it has me thinking about how or what I can do to be more green at home and at work. I already recycle. I don't litter. And I am big on composting. I get this from my paren'ts who are huge on composting – they will practically cry if you try to throw out your banana peel in the organics bin. Dad will even throw on his winter jacket and dig a hole on our snow/ice covered garden just to compost!
But really I think I could be more "green"! At work, I try to save as much paper as I can. I could try to drink less bottled water and use a water filter with a reusable water bottle. We have one at the library for staff so why not? If you think about it, WE can all do at least one thing to be more "green". It could really help to make the environment more sustainable.
The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority staff will be here on Monday, July 11 from 6-7:30 p.m. to share tips and tricks for lessening your environmental impact around the house and in the yard.
Think about it. How GREEN are you?

An excellent book on this topic is “Super natural home: improve your health, home and planet – one room at a time”. Beth Greer has many suggestions for going green, along with the reasons why our conventional ways are negatively affecting us and the planet.
Oh thanks so much Cynthia!!!!! I will definitely pull these books for Monday’s program 🙂
