Pratchett_46_100 Johnny Maxwell is your usual teenage boy, with crazy friends who have names like Big Mac and Yo-Less but he also has a special ability. If you haven’t guessed from the title, Johnny can see and speak to the dead. To be more specific Johnny Maxwell is the only one who can hear their complaints. The old historical cemetery is about to be destroyed for office space and after Johnny tells the patrons of the grave this news they aren’t happy. Johnny and his friends must prove to the living that the dead are important enough to be saved. He searches the grave for famous people and does anything he can. Johnny and the dead is filled with humorous characters, both living and dead. For fans of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series this book is filled with Pratchett’s usual humorous and well researched footnotes and it is one of his extensively researched books.
