Hey Word Outers,
Turns out we've got a spare copy of The Skateboarding Field Manual, the nonfiction of the week for August 3, to give away.
If you're interested in it post a comment in this thread with the name you'd give your skateboard if you were Tony Hawk-level skater famous. I'll draw the prize winner on August 21 (a week from today).
I will go first (though I am not eligible for the prize): I would name my board the Biblio-Deck. Hilarious!
Alan H. is a web librarian who fell off a cheap plastic skateboard at age 8, busted his elbow up, and hasn't been back on one since.

Ahahah I really need a manual for this…when I was seven, I skateboarded straight into a brick wall …and that was because I couldn’t break or change direction (well, I was too scared to…)….
