Jarviscocker Jarvis Cocker was the lead singer/songwriting for the britpop band Pulp. Pulp were a huge success in the late 1990's and early 2000's and then they disbanded. Jarvis went out on his own and recorded two solo albums and then began to lend his voice to children's story audio books.

Jarvis has returned to making music with musician Chilly Gonzales and the album is entitled "Room 29". The album is an  artistic take on the Chateau Marmont hotel in LA with a focus on the infamous room 29. Through song, instrument, and spoken-word we are taken through the laundry list of assorted heartbreak, thrills, personal histories and lives that have passed through the hotel and that particular room.

This is such a fascinating concept album and Jarvis's soothing speaking voice and rich singing voice the listener is taken on a journey through a room that holds so many memories but is unable to speak for itself. The two musicians attempt to give the room a voice and a chance to relinquish its history to the world.

If you enjoy this you should also check out his work with the band Pulp who had a huge hit in 1996 with the class division anthem "Common People" from the album "Common People". Jarvis also had a cameo in the "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" as the lead singer of the band at the dance.

Happy streaming.
