Finding Toronto Public Library Branch Locations Using the TPL Web Site

Toronto Public Library uses Google Maps to show the location for each of its 99 library branch locations. To illustrate, one can click on the Hours & Locations link . For example, let us use the newly-renovated Cedarbrae Branch located at 545 Markham Road. To find details for Cedarbrae Branch, click on either the A-Z List of Branches on the left-hand side of the page or use the pull-down menu on the right-hand side of the page under the words “Library Branch” to find Cedarbrae alphabetically. Click on the word Cedarbrae as it is a link to gain further information about the branch.

In addition to learning about Cedarbrae Branch’s address and hours of operation, one can also get descriptive directions on where to find the branch under the "Directions" tab.

Or, one can click on the “Map” tab to view Cedarbrae branch’s location displayed on a Google map.

Or, alternatively, one can do an “address, intersection or postal code” search to find the closest library branch location.

For example, searching the postal code “M1H 2A1” brings up the following map.

Next to the search balloon result is a public library branch symbol (denoting a book).

Click on the book symbol and one can access information for Cedarbrae Branch.

Click on either the phrase “Hours and Directions” or the branch’s name (in this case, Cedarbrae) in the balloon to obtain additional information about the branch.

These search techniques will work with each of Toronto Public Library’s 99 branch locations from the TPL web site.

  1. Thank you for your query. Go to the Toronto Public Library web site and click on the button “Using the Library”. Go to the “Theatre & Room Rentals” link, followed by clicking on the “Meeting Rooms” link (URL: http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/using-the-library/room-theatre-rentals/meeting-rooms.jsp ). There you will find a list of Toronto Public Library branches that offer meeting rooms for rent, the phone number (416-397-5969) for the library’s Room Booking Unit, information on how to make a booking, and the fee schedule.
