Library Catalogue @ Your Fingertips
Toronto Public Library has created a series of “@ Your Fingertips” tip sheets to help with library resources and topics of interest. For those seeking to gain familiarity with the TPL website and online catalogue, one might find the Library Catalogue @ Your Fingertips tip sheets to be helpful. The first tip sheet explains how to do a general search from the home page of the website, an advanced search, and information on checking and managing one’s library account. The second tip sheet guides one through doing a book title search with the general search box, followed by determining the status of title copies and placing a hold; using the advanced search screen to find DVDs, CDs, Audiobooks and more; and finishing with a review on checking one’s account.
Some Toronto Public Library branches schedule in-house instruction on the library catalogue that corresponds to the aforementioned tip sheets. College/Shaw branch (766 College Street) offers ongoing instruction on the library catalogue during the April to June and the July to August 2011 periods. Interested individuals are asked to register in person or call 416-393-7668. S. Walter Stewart branch (170 Memorial Park Avenue) is hosting a Library Catalogue @ Your Fingertips class on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Interested individuals should contact the branch at 416-396-3975.
