Google unveiled its Instant Pages searching feature yesterday, claiming to save seconds from the search process by using prerendering technology to preselect (or predict) top-ranked websites even before the user clicks on them. Google Instant Pages will be initially available on Google’s Chrome browser and Chrome’s beta version , followed by mobile browsers. As open source code was used, developers can write Instant Page extensions for other browsers as well.

Google noted that the prerendering technology is available to any website. Google’s Instant Pages is complementary to Google Instant that shows potential keyword search strategies as one types a query into the search box with the intention of saving between 4 to 10 seconds of internet search time. Instant Pages relies on access to the user’s search history in conjunction with the relevance of each search result and approximately 200 algorithmic factors to ascertain which website link a person is likely to click on and to contact the server to begin loading that website link out of sight as soon as the search results list appears.
