Google Handwrite for Mobile Devices: What’s Old is New Again
Google has introduced a beta feature called Handwrite for users accessing Google from their smartphone or tablet. Those users should click on “Settings” and then enable Handwrite. Handwrite is available for 27 languages. Google offers “Tips for Handwrite” including: writing tips (use print writing rather than cursive writing); using your device (in either portrait or landscape orientation; try print writing with your thumb of the same hand with which you are holding the phone); and, using the feature (tap the search box to bring up the virtual keyboard if you want to type a term rather print write it; the feature is limited to search use on only web, images, places etc.; selecting your preferred language by going to Settings at the bottom of a page, selecting preferred language in the “Language of Search Results” area, and then click on Save; bookmarking the Google homepage).
For users of Google Android devices, go to the Google Android Help Center for help in bookmarking a webpage. For Apple iOS device users, launch the Safari browser, go to Google, tap
at the bottom of the iPhone screen/at the top of the screen on an iPad, and select Add to Home Screen. Tap Add to confirm and a new Google icon
will appear on the home screen.
