Computer and Library Classes
Toronto Public Library offers a wide array of classes through its 18 Learning Centres, city wide. From basic techniques on how to use a computer, or get an email account, to finding eBooks and using social networks. We'll walk you through the steps of accessing online journal and magazine articles and we'll teach you how to do research effectively too. Some locations, like the Toronto Reference Library, offer subject specific research instruction. New among courses being offered through the Digital Innovation Hub are classes on the creation of objects through 3D imaging and printing.
There is something for everyone. For example, you may wish to check out our Microsoft Office classes, including instruction on Word (creating documents, such as resumes), Excel (building basic spreadsheets), PowerPoint (creating presentations), and Publisher, a computer program that allows you to use templates in order to create basic publications.
To find out more, click on Programs, Classes & Exhibits and select Computer & Library Training. You will see different categories listing the classes by name and location. Choose one. You can check to see if your local library offers the class, by selecting your branch on the left.
Some classes require registration, in which case you will need to phone your branch.
