Sabryna reviewed Spoiled by Heather Cocks

I loved this book! I thought it was going to be like any other book about sisters who live in L.A, but I was so wrong. When Molly's mother is on her death bed she tells Molly about her father. Molly had always thought that her father had died shortly before she had been born. However it turns out that Molly's father is a movie star/director named Brick Berlin, Brick and her mother had met on a movie set long ago and had dated. When Molly's mom was about to tell Brick she was pregnant, Brick was already married (but I guess they stayed in touch because we learn that Brick would call every once in a while to she how Molly was). Molly is then given the option to stay with her grandparen'ts or go to L.A and live with Brick and his daughter Brooke. Molly decides to take a chance meanwhile leaving her best friend and her boyfriend. Meanwhile Brooke learns from the magazine Hey! that her father has a love child, she's sorta shocked. When Molly arrives to her new home she is greeted by opened arms by Brick and Brooke.  Could Brooke really be glad that Molly is here? Of course not, everyone has interior motives, this is L.A we're talking about. Between parties, fights, friendship and betrayal the book never had me board. This is one of my favourite books of the summer. It gets 5/5 stars.

Gail reviewed Broken by Kelley Armstrong

PLEASE NOTE: THIS BOOK IS ADULT FICTION.  THERE ARE SOME PARTS TO IT THAT ARE INAPPROPRIATE FOR YOUNGER READERS.
Broken is the sixth book in the Women of the Otherworld series and has Elena as the narrator.
in Broken, Elena is called for an favor that she owes the half demon Xavier, who had helped her escape from the research facility when she was captured.  The favor is simple, steal the letter sent by Jack the Ripper that went missing back in the twenties.  The job seems simple enough until Elena accidentally unlocks the spell on the letter releasing a dimensional portal.  To make matters worse, Elena is pregnant and now there are zombies coming out of the portal and attacking her.  Now Elena has to find a way to seal  the portal in time, all the while trying to stay alive.
Broken was in some parts confusing for me.  Not because the story line was badly written but because i hadn't read book three, four and five.  There were some events and people mentioned that i had no idea about but overall, the story was well written and i wasn't completely lost that i couldn't understand what was happening.  As always, Elena and Clay's relationship is going strong and the plot in this book is different but still similar to the other books.  I really would have liked it if they had touched on Jack the Ripper some more but i guess the main point of the book isn't about Jack the Ripper but about Elena's survival in this troubled time.  Like my previous review, i can find no, or very little, faults with Kelley Armstrong's writing and her series.  The cover is amazing and the story is very well written.  If you love fantasy, romance and possibly looking for an adult version of Twilight, give this a try! Enjoy!

Angela reviewed Thirteen Plus One by Lauren Myracle

This was the best book I've ever read in the series. As I'm the same age as Winnie, I feel like I'm growing up with her. It's so awesome, to be able to look into the life of a girl like me. I'm also nervous for highschool, and seeing that she is to, it makes me feel not alone. She seems to be so perfect, having close friends like that, and believe me, I do too, it's just that we don't really talk about boys and stuff. We discuss world politics. But reading this book lets me live a parallel life, and it's great, because Lauren Myracle captures the emotions of growing up really well. I can really connect with Winnie. And I've always been a fan of Lauren Myracle's books. I can't wait until "Fourteen" comes into the library system. Yay! I can celebrate my 14th birthday with Winnie!

Gail reviewed Sapphique by Catherine Fisher

Sapphique is the sequel to the book Incarceron and finishes the two part series.
In Sapphique, Finn still doesn't accept the fact that he is the lost ̈Prince Giles, but when a pretender also claims the throne, Finn might need to start believing in his princedom, especially when no one else does.  Keiro and Attia are still trying to escape and find a way back to Finn so when they come upon a magician who claims to have the magical glove of Sapphique, they conspire and steal the glove.  Turns out the prison also wants the glove and is willing to do whatever it takes to get it back.  Meanwhile, Claudia is unsure of herself as to whether Finn is the prince.  She's also trying to get the portal open to save her father but what happens when she herself accidentally gets sent in to incarceron?
Sapphique wasn't as intersting as Incarceron, just to put it out there.  I found this book was centered around the many battles, either political or physical.  Incarceron was more centered around the prison and i guess having not read it before, the oddity of it was very intersting and kept me hooked.  Sapphique doesn't have that.  The prison becomes a sort of means to sens paranoia and fear to the characters. There's no "wow" moment in my opinion.  Besides that, the ending was very good.  What happened was completely surprised in my opinon. I was never expecting it and yet, when it happened, i completely understood why the world became like that.  Just one of those moments.  Overall Sapphique was an okay read that only got better the further you went.  Give it a try and if you haven't read Incarceron yet, i highly suggest it!

Moska reviewed Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by JK Rowling
