Secret of lily gravesThe Secrets of Lily Graves by Sarah Strohmeyer

Lily Graves wants to be a mortician. After all, she does come from a long lineage of female morticians.

Lily is her own personality. She doesn’t fit into the conventional ‘norms’ of her high school, rather, she walks to the beat of her own drum. Enter uber-cool and super popular jock Matt. Matt has asked Lily to tutor him in history, much to the disdain of his girlfriend, Erin. Erin doesn’t like Lily, and especially doesn’t like the fact Matt is spending time with her. When Matt breaks things off with Erin, she jumps at Lily’s throat. The two have a big blow up and Erin ends up dead. Everyone in town thinks that Lily and Matt are to blame, but Lily has more to worry about. The injuries on Erin’s body hint at killer that knows what he/she is doing, definitely not an amateur.

With a killer on the loose, and danger swarming around them, it is up to Lilly to find out the truth and expose the killer.

This book is a quick read, and will have you engaged the entire time. It is well written and witty, and I really enjoyed how well defined Lilly’s character was. She is different and refreshing, and does not fit into any preconceived mold, which is a welcomed breath of fresh air.
