A Free Guide to Browsers and the Web
A few weeks ago Google released an online book called “20 Things I Learned About Browsers and the Web”. This electronic book is a little different from a regular eBook as it's designed to be read online using any HTML5 enabled browser (such as the latest version of Safari, Chrome, or Firefox) rather than a device like the Kindle or Kobo. There is also a printer friendly version if you prefer to do your reading from a real page.
Each chapter or “thing”, as they’re referred to in the “Table of Things”, is accompanied by an illustration by graphic artist Christoph Niemann, who writes and illustrates the New York Times Abstract City blog. The book begins by answering the question, “What is the Internet exactly?” then covers 19 other topics in a concise and informative manner. I found the sections regarding online security particularly interesting: Browser Cookies, Malware, Phishing, and Security Risks, Validating Identities Online, and Using Web Addresses to Stay Safe. These are all very important 'things' to know and understand for anyone who uses the Web.
20 Things I Learned About Browsers and the Web is easy to understand and written with a touch of humour which make it a great place to start for beginners and an informative read for anyone who would like to understand browsers and the Web a little better.

I like the fact that the title does not contain either the word “dummies'” or “idiot’s”
