Sravya reviewed The Short Second Life of the Bree Tanner – By Stephenie Meyer

I am a huge fan of the Twilight series, and this book really helped me understand the series, from a different view. It takes place after Eclipse, and gave me a new perspective of how Bree, a newborn vampire adjusts to becoming a vampire with a fellow newborn, Diego. Since the Twilight Series are from Bella's perspective, there was a limited understanding of how vampires, especially newborns, feel and what they go through. Bree is with 22 other newborns, but many of them die or get hurt throughout the book, because of Riley, Victoria's partner, who she uses to get revenge on Edward for killing James. Some parts of the book are confusing, but eventually everything made sense. The best part of the book was the few minutes Diego and Bree spent together. I really hate how in the end of the book, they both die, but this book is still special to me, since it gave me a better understand of the Twilight Series.

Sravya reviewed The Giver – By: Lois Lowry

Most of my friends at school read "The Giver", by Lois Lory at one point or another and I always wanted to read it. I am almost done reading the book, and I think that it an amazing book, when is so creative and I really like it. This review has many spoilers, so if you haven't read the book, and plan on reading it, try not to read the book. The book takes place in a whole different world, which is highly controlled by "The Committee" sort of like Norht korea, and it is very interesting. Expect this committee is mostly friendly, but the people of this community, are strictly controlled by them, without them realizing it. This book reminded me of the Chrysalids, a post apocalyptic book in which people are very controlling of mutants, and have "The Authorities" similar to the "The Committee". The Giver is filled with surprising twists, for example, you don't know that they have climate control, sameness, and everything in black and white until you read over half of the book. There is also a Receiver, and its a book that really reached out to me, because Jonas, the main character is only a little younger than I am, and I feel sorry for this society, because basic living rights are taken away from them, like the ability to choose which colour shirt they want to wear, but they don't realize it. It is very shocking that a family similar to mine, two kids around my age, and two paren'ts, living in a place that you would think is normal, turns out to be filled with book of rules and basic privileges are taken away from them. I am scared that a society like this would have happen, with people that are so controlled, and with changed DNA, to be very similar. Throughout the is book, I was wondering if people in the committee are people just like us, able to see colours, and know about books, and have a normal life, but choose to control a large group of people, without the people knowing that they are being controlled. Its a great book that I'm completely involved in and I love it. I can't wait to read more books by the same author.
